Question about Ricoh Aficio CL3500N Laser Printer
We do high volume laser printing normally on HP Laserjets. We had a request from a client to print a job with color logos so we bought a Ricoh Aficio CL3500N. We printed the job from JetLetter 4.710 using pc with Windows 98 with the Ricoh Aficio CL3500N PCL 5c driver. It was a 2-sided letter with an 8" x 8" box with about 24 color logos in it with around 2000 records. When we printed to the Ricoh Aficio CL3500N, it printed fine for around 50 records and then started dropping lines of text and/or graphics. Does anyone know what could cause this?
First, check the text in your records for odd characters. It is sometimes possible in data entry to hit a ctrl-"letter" combination that embeds printer codes in your text and these are invisible in many cases to the application. The easiest way is to break up your print job to sections of records and see if a particular record consistently causes an error.
If your sure however that the printer is the problem...
Then I would check the RAM. The printer has 128MB upgradable to 512MB. Normally you can pull the ram and run jobs on the internal memory, but in this case you would need to swap it out.
