Question about JVC AV-27230 27" TV

1 Answer

Locked Channel Just had new Dish Satellite installed. This TV is TV 2 on the dish HD DVR. It was operating perfect prior to that installtion. It uses channel 60 for the dish feed. After the new installation all of a sudden this TV does not get the feed. Still on channel 60 have tried numerous times to do cannel auto load it will go to channel 116 then stops and shows 116 as locked have went to channel summary menu, unchecked the X for lock on it, run auto again does the same thing, go back and it has the lock on 116 again. Seems to not complete the auto scan since it show that channel lock. Channel 8 also shows a lock in channel summary. Have removed the X for the lock numerous times and after trying running Auto channel set up go back to it and it will show the lock again. How do I permanently remove those two locks ??? (Had never seen them on those channels before. Thankls for any help.

Can i hook up an old tube type tv to a new high satellite dish? i dont care if i get high def picture just want a regular picture.

Yes there is an option for ouptuting 480i signal from most hd receivers. You will need to check the specifics for the satellite dish receiver as to the channel that the TV should be on as well as how to set it to the resolution that you need. (I know some Dish receivers need channel 60 for the SD TV (coax (RF) connection) when it is TV 2 but channel 3 or 4 for TV 1.) Also check your TV so that you can use the best possible input available.

However, you may not be able to read the closed captions unless you enable them on the receiver. (Apparently, the encoding has changed.)

The manuals for some satellite company receivers are on their website. For example, Dish network manuals are here: http://www.dishnetwork.com/supportsection/manuals . Their manual for the Solo VIP 211k describes connecting the receiver to a SD TV on page 91 (page 97 in the PDF version).

I hope this helps.

(I'm not aware of any satellite system that doesn't use a set-top box. If you do not have a receiver, then the above does not apply and you may not be able to get a signal.)

I have a wf24t5 that i want to connect to a dish sat hd. how and what do i need to do to connect?

After confirming by viewing the operation manual for this unit, this TV is only capable of inputting a baseband video and standard audio. Unless the Satellite Receiver you have has those type of output jacks then this TV will not be able to reproduce picture or sound from the Receiver. It may be possible to connect through the antenna connection but again the Satellite would need a connector that would output on Channel 3 or 4. Most recent satellite receivers do not offer these ouputs. You indicate that the Receiver you have is High Def. The TV you have is not high def and would drastically down grade the quality of your picture and audio being delivered by the satellite receiver

I need to get to channel 73 to connect to Satellite Dish network, but it keeps telling me there is no channel in list ???? what do i do..Thanks

If the TV will go to channel 60 go to TV1 hit menu 6-1-5 go to tv2 out select air. This should change tv2 out to read 60 make sure you don't change the TV 1 output. Select done to save your changes and it should be resolved!

I need to get to channel 73 to connect to Satellite Dish network, but it keeps telling me there is no channel in list ???? what do i do..Thanks

We would be happy to help with that. Some TV's are not ableto go as high as channel 73. This sounds like you're having an issue with yourTV2, this would be the TV located in a different room than your DISH Networkreceiver. Go to the main TV by the receiver, press the menu button located onthe top left of your DISH remote. Once in the main menu, press the numbers6-1-5, this will take you to the "Modulator Setup" screen. Once there we want to highlight the "Air"option located below "TV2 Out" then press the select button. TheChannel should change from 73 to 60. Change the channel of the TV you arehaving an issue with to channel 60; you should get the DISH Network programmingat that point. We hope these steps help you get that fixed. Thank you for beinga valued DISH Network customer!

Older CRT TV was connected to Dish DVR unit was paused and shut off on its on and will not come back on,

I am assuming you are saying the Dish DVR paused and will not come on, not the TV. If there is a red reset button behind a small door on the front of the unit press that and see if that works. If not then unplug the unit, wait about 10 seconds plug it back in and see if it comes back. You may need to press the power button to turn it back on. If that does not work then call Dish network for help. The unit may be bad but they can also do a couple of things on their end. Also make sure TV is on the correct channel or input to see the DVR. If one of the above helped it may happen again if it happens often call Dish to replace the harddrive is faulty.

Connection to Dish service

Your t.v is having only RFin , and if you connecting dish receiver , normaly their are two o/p for receiver one is RF and two is for audio out and video out. if your connecting direct RFout to t.v RF in then you have to tune the t.v in all bands. if your receiver do not having RFout facility, then you have to connect AV out to converter and then RFin of t.v. if you having a vcr, then connect AVout of dish receiver to vcr AVin and then vcr RFout to t.v again tune the t.v and pwer on the vcr.
