What is error code 5200 mean?

Is this a Canon printer? Which model do you have? On some, the 5200 error indicates that the print head has overheated. You should turn off the printer. Then unplug it for a while (possibly 5-10+ minutes). I'd recommend unplugging the cord from both the wall outlet and the printer itself, if possible. Then reconnect the power cord and test turning on the printer.

On some Canon printers, remove the ink cartridges and the print head (if it is removable). Then restart the printer and install the print head and cartridges when the printer requests the ink.

You can also try resetting the printer's internal fault memory.
On some models, turn off the printer. Then
1) Press and hold the Stop button.
2) Press the On button and hold that.
3) Release the Stop button.
4) Press the Stop button 5 times. Release both the Stop and On buttons.
5) The LED will blank while the unit resets. (If your computer is connected to the printer via a USB cable, the computer may indicate new hardware found.
6) Turn off the printer and then turn it back on.

Other models:
1) Press and hold the Reset button while pressing the On button.
2) Release the Reset button while still holding the On button down.
3) Press Reset twice.
4) Release the On button.
5) The LED should blink with a 0 in the window.
6) Press Reset 4 times and then press On twice.
7) The printer should turn off.
8) Turn the printer on.

If these steps don't work, the print head or the electronics inside the printer need to be replaced. If the unit is under warranty, contact the manufacturer. Note: if you get a replacement print head, you can not return it for a refund once you install it. Thus you'll be out that cost, if it doesn't solve the problem.

I hope this helps.

Stylus r300 printing orange photos why

Follow these steps to clean the print head from the printer's control panel:
1. Make sure the printer is turned on but not printing, and the red
b error light is off.
If the red light is flashing or on, you may need to replace the ink cartridge.
2. Press the down button to highlight More Options, then press OK.
3. Use the up or down button to highlight Head Cleaning, then press OK.
4. To begin cleaning, press OK.
While cleaning, the printer makes noise and you see a progress bar on the control panel
display. Cleaning takes about 30 seconds.
Caution: Do not turn off the printer or interrupt the cleaning process.
5. When the cleaning is done, run a nozzle check to confirm the print head nozzles are
clean.
Make sure letter-size plain paper is loaded in the printer, then press Stop. The nozzle check pattern prints.
6. If the pattern has gaps or missing dots, press Stop to clean the print head again.
If the nozzle check pattern looks correct, press OK to finish.

Note: Run nozzle check at least three consecutive times. If you do not see any improvement and you have replaced the ink cartridges, your product may require service.

This issues looking printer head problem. check the following Steps for cleaning printer head :

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.

Does not print

***hi there,il be willing to help you on that. ****
the nozzles of the printer might be clogged by dried inks thats why when your printing, its feeding the paper, as if its printing but no inks on the paper. print a nozzle check to see which part or color have clogs, if there are gaps or breaks, do head cleaning untill no more gaps then try printing.
Running a Printer Check
1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder. 2. Turn off the Epson Stylus NX100 Series. 3. Hold down the nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.1.jpg Stop button as you press the nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.2.jpg On button to turn the Epson Stylus NX100 Series back on. Hold down both buttons until the nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.3.jpg On light begins to flash, then release the buttons. 1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder. 2. Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines. nx100_tx100_ug.1.96.5.jpg 5. If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing. If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head. If your printouts are unexpectedly light, or dots or lines are missing, you may need to clean the print head. This unclogs the nozzles so they can deliver ink properly. Print head cleaning uses ink, so clean it only if quality declines.
You can also clean the print head by holding down the stop button on the printer for three seconds. (This only works when the red ink light is off.) Run a nozzle check to confirm that the print head is clean.
Caution: When you don’t turn on your printer for a long time, print quality can decline, so turn it on and print a few pages at least once a month to maintain good print quality. ***if my troubleshooting steps are helpful, pls vote for me, i will appreciate it, so that I can be a part of fixya, thanks, Godbless****

My canon mx310 alarm light will not go off after i used reset program for ink cartridges how do i stop alarm light and get it to go off?

Hi

You’ll need to reset your printer to clear the ink counters, after resetting it’ll not display the error code again. Follow this procedure to reset the printer--

1. Power off the printer.
2. Holding the stop/reset button, press and hold power button also. Hold both buttons together for 5 secs.
3. Still holding the power button, release the stop/reset buton, then press the stop/reset button twice.
4. Release power button (the screen should now say 'Service Mode').
5. Wait until the power button lights steady green, then press the stop/reset button three times with a 3 sec space between each press. On the 3rd press the indicator should turn steady orange.
6. Press the power button once, (the orange light should go off).
7. Open the printer and remove both cartridges. Wait for 10 seconds. Replace the cartridges and close printer. Wait for 30 seconds.
8. Press the power button, and wait until printer has shut down.
9. Press power button to power up. The printer will feed one piece of paper, then ask you to set the language.
10. The page counter is now reset.

First thing i would look at is the film that runs directly behind the print head i would think it is dirty. just turn on printer and get print head to the middle and turn off machine, gentle move print head to one side and gentle clean the film strip with a cloth with a little metho on it, move print head to other side and clean other part of ****.
i reckon that will fix your problem its a common problem they tend to get a bit of grease on the timming ****. Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.
