Same problem, started abut a week ago. Will not stop picking up paper. Not even trying to print, just a constant turning. Only way to get it to stop is unplug or open the front cartridge holder.

Paper pickup solenoid plunger out of position remove covers locate solenoid on the right hand side of machine as looking from behind( Could be the other side as not got machine in front of me) and check that the plunger is in its correct position. If not refit replace covers and check.

Note sometimes the plunger falls to the bottom of the printer loosing the tension spring. What causes the problem you have is that the plunger does not lock the pickup gear into position and the engine drives that pickup gear all the time causing to pickup paper all the time.

Thanks Jason

Thanks in advance. Our E342n Lexmark printer stops printint 3/4 of a page from the end consistantly since I removed a paper jam. I accessed the back panel as directed and removed the jammed paper and since...

It's a possible worn out pick tires, bad pick arm or fuser issue. For the pick tires, you can use the other side of the tires by removing it flipping it. To remove the pick tires, refer to the guide below: 0c29f53.jpg If it's the pick arm or the fuser, it calls for a replacement. But I hope that the pick tires would resolve the problem. If you need more assistance, just leave a comment so I can get back to it.

Paper does not exit in one continuous motion but rather in a hesitating manner

You may have the guides misadjusted, the feed rollers may be dusty, or you might need to examine the type or paper or way its loaded into the machine. (If you flip it over upside down, does the feed change at all?) Please see Brother support links about this issue for your machine here and here. as well as here.
You may find the Brother support page for your printer, available here, to have some helpful information about paper jams and other FAQ's.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Paper Jam!

Clean your pickup rollers with a damp terrycloth towel. What happens is the pickup rollers get lint and dust on them and then don't pick up the paper as well. Cleaning should resolve your issue.

I know the problem, Its the Exit paper sensor! if u make a short circuit on the pin 2 and 3 of the CN2 when the paper reaches the sensor it wont jam. Chainging the sensor resolves the continous paper jam or try to clean it!

Open the printhead cover carefully. You have to pull up the mini circiut board inside. Here you can clean the sensor.

Paper jam in tray 2

the most common problem for a paper jam in tray 2 is that either the pick up rollers and separation pads are worn or that there is something stuck to the rollers that transfer the paper up through to trat 1.(most commonly from if people have been printing on stickers/labels) just eyeball it to see if anything looks to be stook and try wiping it off. DO NOT SCRATCH IT OFF as this will only make things worse!!!
