My IBM monitor is not displaying when I turn my computer on. The green power light is on (not flashing). When I try to turn it off or get it to flash nothing happens. I unpuged it thinking it would re-set but no luck. I also tried re-booting several times. I had the same problem yesterday and got it running. The screen quality is great. Nothing wrong there. The is nothing in the owners manuel about this. The screen on my T40 lap to works fine but I want to use the monitor. HELP! Thank you, Jim Cyr 206-300-9545

Monitor flashes logo and then turns black.with red lights on

Here's some tricks I would try. Something here, might help...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your monitor on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

IBM L190 LCD - the LED beside the power button corner cycles green for 1 second, off for 1 second as soon as it is plugged in. The unit won't power up, the LED just cycles green/off whenever it is plugged...

It's clear the problem is the display, but you can still try these 1. unplug and replug while the both is on 2. turn on, off couple of times 3. keep the LCD on for about one hour these are anyway temporary fixes :(

LCD (IBM) monitor power light is green but no display

Make sure the monitor lead which goes behind the computer is in correctly and has not come loose.

Unscrew it from the PC and put it back in again.

Power light flashes with no display

That usually means that the connection between the PC and the monitor has been interupted- check that the cable (probably has blue ends) between the two is firmly connected, and power it back up. If that doesn't work, you have one of three problems; a broken VGA cable, a broken monitor, or a broken video card. Finding out which- you'll actually need someone tech-savvy there to help you figure that out. Try plugging the monitor into a different computer. If that fails, use a different VGA cable (cables are pretty cheap at monoprice.com), and if that fails, it's your video card.
