Re: system error L3-00
L3-XX codes have to do with the scanner system. Most likely the scanner lock underneath the scanner (where the paper exits) got locked. It should be a round plastic knob. If that it not it you need to check the travel of the mirror system and lubricate the scanner rails. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH OPTICAL SCANNER SYSTEMS DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR IT. IF THE CABLES SLIP OFF YOU ARE DONE. I've been a copier tech for five years and it took me four hours to restring the optics cable on a Kyocera and eliminate the skew.
I've had that happen on two Sharp copiers. There's a plastic gear that wears down then jumps which gives you the clicking sound. I sent both back to the factory for repair and paid nearly as much as I did to buy the copier when you include shipping costs. Both units had the identical problem just a few months after getting them back. I do not suggest a repair. It's simply not worht it. Buy a new copier.

If the humming last 3-5 seconds then makes a faint click sound and stops humming for a minute or two. Then resumes the hum again it may be your compressor locked down. Stuck. Most likely it is just a bad start capacitor not kick starting the compressor. A $6 part.
Follow these steps : 1.Start with printer off 2.Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. Green led should be on 3.While holding the Power button, release the Resume Button. 4.Without releasing the Power Button, click "Resume" button for two times and release Both Buttons. 5.Click "Resume" for four times then soon click "Power" button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). 6.Turn off the printer and turn on again
Hi! Please try this. Unplug the printer from power source and press hold the power button for 10secs. while unplugged. This should reset the printer's system. Plug the printer to power source, turn it on and see how it goes. This should make your printer work normally again. Hope this helps and have a good one!
