Cannon printer model s530d serial # fbbh42792 receiving seven ( 7 ) orange blinks i removed print head, cleaned and reinstalled still same problem, do i need a new print head ??? if so how do i order ( buy ) a new one ??

    i shut off the printer, disconnected the power at the plug and pressed the on button
    still same problem

You need to reset the printer

    1) When the power is turned off, hold down the RESUME button,then press and hold the POWER button. The green indicator will light up.
    2) While holding down the POWER button, release the RESUME button. Then double-click the RESUME button and release the POWER button. (The indicator blinks in orange/green every time the RESUME button is pressed.)
    3) The green indicator blinks while initial operations are in progress. When the indicator stops blinking and lights constantly, press the RESUME button two times
    4) Switch it off and on again, and the printer should be back online.

The first thing you can try is resetting it by unplugging the printer and see if it stops blinking, if not, then I would get a new print head and they can be ordered from Canon. Let me know if you need a number to call, otherwise you can check their website and even order the part online.

    alright, well then you should order a new print head and that should fix your problem. Yours has gone bad as nothing lasts forever

Remove and reinstall the printhead.
Also, ensure that the protective cap has been removed. If reinstalling the printhead does
not resolve the problem, replace it with a new one.

According to the manual found here:

7 orange lights represents a bad print head, and the printer will need serviced or replacement. Since printers are so cheap lately, I would just go shopping. Hope this helps! Thanks!

Canon i560. It stopped printing when i changed black ink cartridge. None of the maintenance functions work. They all show the same message: Press resume, then turn printer off & back on. 1st green...

Blinking 5 times in orange means print head not detected by the printer. You may try following procedure: remove and reinstall the print head. If the problem not solve find good print head to compare. More information please check below link

I have a Canon Bubble Jet i850. It is approximately 7 years old with no problems until now. I am getting 7 orange flashes, which according to the manual indicates possible defective printer head. I removed...

The problem does indeed seem to be a print head fault. Remove it and take it to your local printer re-inking firm. Get them to do a thorough clean of the print head (they have the equipment that us mere mortals don't) and test it (should cost you nothing or very little). If it works, great! If not then get a new printer. The cost of replacing the print head would be the same or more than replacing the entire unit.

My printer cannon ip1980 is now not reconized to colorink and blinking orange and i press the orange buttom but it is not get and i cannont print and still orange blinking . with regards , kan nyunt...

1. if the printer monitor says that your colored cartridge has run out, you can press the orange button for at least 5-10 seconds and it will solve your problem. it is called a cartridge reset.

2. if the printer says that it cannot recognize the color cartridge. practically, you need to change your colored cartridge with a new one. However, if you have changed the color cartridge and still the problem is the same, you might have a carriage problem. try to clean the contacts of the carriage and try reinstalling your cartridge again.

Can not print from my Cannon i950. 'paper thikness lever position

A friend of mine had the same problem and turned out to be the print head. They can be pricey so a new printer would be in order probably. Could also be the waste ink counter as well. Here are some steps to see if you can get rid of the 7 orange blinks:

1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print (exit service for i960)
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

If this doesn't work then you know its the print head for sure.

..ip1000 questions..'s cleaning time, a simple if messy operation. You will have to clean the print head and the waste ink pads, and whilst there might as well clean all the other gunk as well.. how to do this ?

..power on, open front, let carrier slide to middle front, pull power cable, pull computer cable.

..Remove cartridges hand slide carrier to left to below the grooves in the upper case front. Clip the grey print head retainer, it pivots to the printer back, it must go up in the grooves, then remove print head, it comes forward..

Printer Not Responding, 7 orange flashes

Don't replace the print head soooo fast...

Take the print head out first and clean the gold contacts...
I used a very fine sandpaper like emery cloth...

You might get 4 yellow blinks after that.
That is because the printhead was turned upside down to clean and the ink looked low and/or out.

Just wait a few minutes after cleaning and reset...
Mine worked fine after that.... smile....

Gives the error for ink tank full

Before you try to reset your Canon i9100 be sure to remove the ink head itself before attempting and then replace after, it won't work if you don't, I almost threw away 2 good printers before I read this today.
