Toshiba satellite p200 laptop display problem

I am getting red lines across the display.
The problem is intermittent and looks to all intents as though the resolution of the screen has dropped.
I believe the problem may be a loose connection on the display.
I believe it is easy to resolve, but I need to know how to open up the display panel.
There are four sticky nubs covering the screws.
What do I need to do when I have removed these?
Thanks
Warm Regards
David

Mite be your screen card but first this is how you open the screen ,there are two square or round tabs covering screws that you need to peel off with something with a point on it 2 on the top and two or four on the bottom ,peel them loose and then unscrew the screws and then there is little tabs around the inside around the cover gently insert a flait screw driver to use as a pry bar type
once you have one section loose it should come off pretty simple
depends on type of toshiba you have there mite be a couple of screws on the bottom under battery or on the bottom of the board
you must gently pull that plastic cover or it will crack ,
after you have taken it loose you will see the hinges and the screen card it is a two small plug white with two wires usally
pink white or black and white see if it is loose if not mite check the back connection on the screen ,but to do that you have two
unscrew small screws on the side of the screen or and the hinge screws if niether is loose i would unhook screen and try plugging in a orther screen and see if it boots up normal if that is so i suggest that your screen card has taken a dump and mite need to order a new one or it mite be the screen it self .....la la linda
if you need more help ask me I will try to help you ...

Yes, just sounds like a loose connection. After taking off all of the screws, you need to pry the outer panel off and then just push in the connection for the screen. It will be attached to a thin/wide wire membrane and you just need to make sure all connections are secure and clean. You can pry off the outer panels gently with a fingernail or with a flatheaded screwdriver. You may notice some thread locker on the screws which is normal.

Hi-

Before opening it let me ask first if your laptop is still within the warranty period from the store or from toshiba? LCD is actually attach by some wires to the mainboard, opening this up might be too risky.

keep me posted, thanks!!

Toshiba P200-1ee Screen fault

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite P200-rt2 that has the same issue. They told me that there's a part that connects to the monitor that needs to be replaced. It costs as much as the computer does. So, I have bought a new one. I want to know if there are other people with this issue. Maybe we can go to Toshiba with this issue.

Is it under warranty?

I'd call Toshiba and let them try some stuff with ya over the phone - chances are you have a loose connection to your display, or the display itself may be pooping out on you.
