Problem for Standard Televisions

Generic problem for all Standard Televisions

Insignia 32" Tube TV NS-RTV32

I have an Insignia 32" NS-RTV32. Every once in a while the screen will shrink down to a very small horizontal line right in the middle of the screen. Just a few pixels wide all the way across the screen. Sometimes it will stay like that and sometimes after a minute the screen will come back. Any ideas? Thanks

- my panasonic tv which i have had for years has finally gone and done this. :( shame, loved the tv. spose now i have a reason to go out and buy a new flat pannel hdtv now :P - sk8er121

The vertical output IC LA7847 is failing. It will likely fail permanately and you will have just the horizontal line. The set will require service. Just do not run the set very long in this state. That thin white line can likely burn into the crt phospher and will show all the time thus ruining the glass picture tube...
