Try reloading the firmware. You will lose any songs held on the player. Follow Mantraguy's instructions from Mar 08.

I found the .exe file on http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=213 use the 1.33.exe file. There is a .txt file with instructions as well.

good luck

I tried to get itunes on my ipod

You just need to import your songs into iTunes library, then make a playlist with the songs, connect your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu "File -> Sync iPod", the songs will be transferred from iTunes to iPod. Or You may try this ipod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you manage iPod files including delete, upload, play, copy, etc. It's much easier to use than iTunes.

I want to add video songs via sonic stage but they are not added..

Hi,

The NWZ-S616F Walkman Player is not transferring the music using the SonicStage Software. Sony old Walkman player was using the SonicStage Software for transferring the files. You can use Windows Media Player 11 or higher, Media Manager for Walkman, Content Transfer Software or Windows Explorer for transferring the files to the Player.
Click here and select the operating System to download the Software for transferring the files.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I cannot transfer individual music files from iTunes. I can do an automatic transfer (all songs) but not individual songs.

it may be advertised to work with itunes. You need to use the content transfer manager. easier to use anyway. just drag and drop as many as you can. It will sync. The content manager is coded for that specific player series. Itunes is really meant for Apple Ipods and such. Music is treated better with it anyway.

Unable to transfer to mp3 player

Hi there,
Based on Philips SA6045 User's Guide, youou can transfer your media content in the following ways:

  • Using Windows Media Player 10 – Note: You cannot transfer all video files using this method. It is recommended to use Media Converter for Philips to transfer video files.
  • Using Windows Media Player 11 - Note: You cannot transfer all video files using this method. It is recommended to use Media Converter for Philips to transfer video files.
  • Using Windows Explorer - Note: While all files will transfer, they may not play back if the player does not support the format.

Convert to MP3 format using Content Transfer. I want to load an audio book to my SONY MP3 NWZ-E436F. My computer can see that the files are copied to the MP3, but the MP3 can't see or read them.

You can use any number of programs to convert cd's to mp3. Sony's Content Transfer is mainly just to transfer files from the computer to the player, drag and drop style. Sony has a Media Manager program that will convert or rip files from a cd into mp3. You can also use windows media player see this guys tip posted here --How To Download MP3's To My Player.

Content Transfer download erro 1327

Check the configuration/setup for your 'Content Transfer' software: it is specifying the wrong drive 'letter' for your player.
Alternatively, you can change the drive letter assigned to your Player by using your computer 'Admistrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management'.

I downloaded songs onto my mp3 but they wont play

Here is the info from Sony:
Is it possible to drag and drop music from the Apple® iTunes® software to the portable player using the Content Transfer Application? Solution
sp.gif sp.gif Yes, if you have iTunes software installed, you can transfer music and playlists from iTunes software to the Walkman® player by dragging and then dropping the files to the Content Transfer application.
NOTES:
  • The Content Transfer application supports data transfer from iTunes software 7.6 or 7.7 to the Walkman player.
  • The Content Transfer application supports data transfer from iTunes software 8.0. However, for playlist transfer from iTunes software 8.0 to the Walkman player, make sure you are using the latest version of the Content Transfer application. The latest version can be downloaded from the Sony Support Web Site at http://esupport.sony.com
  • Digital Rights Management (DRM) copyright-protected files are not supported. iTunes music files may be able to be upgraded to iTunes Plus music files, which do not contain DRM.
  • Do not disconnect the USB connection during data transfer.
  • If there is insufficient free space on the portable player, the data cannot be transferred.
  • The Content Transfer application is included with most newer Walkman Video players. It also is available for additional models in the NWZ-A, NWZ-E, and NWZ-S series. Some models may require an update to be compatible. Additional model-specific information can be found in the Drivers & Software section of the Sony Support Web Site at http://esupport.sony.com.
