"There is a problem playing this audio" is displayed in a black bar at the bottom of the screen. Seems like the last couple of seconds of the song are cut off. The player continues to play the next song in the playlist. No problems playing the songs on my computer or when they're burned to CDs. I've reloaded the audio files but that has not fixed the problem.

Creative Zen 32 X-Fi. New. Trying to fast forward or fast rewind in an audiobook file gives me the "there is a problem playing this audio file" message. Sometimes I have to reset, sometimes not. Either way, the problem can be reproduced readily. Fix this please Mr. Creative.

Yes, I've had the same problem using FF/Rewind with a protected WMA file, a downloaded and licensed library audiobook. I contacted Creative Technical support. In brief, they took me through the following steps: 1) Reformat the drive, reinstall the file, try again. I did this; it did not resolve the problem. 2) Install or Reinstall the firmware. My firmware was Creative's latest version already, but nonetheless, I did as instructed. It did nothing; same problem with the protected WMA audio file. I contacted Creative to report the results of my troubleshooting. They said that they have had many reports from other users about the problem and are passing it on to their technical department. They would contact me when a fix was available. That was over a week ago. For me, it's time to return the unit for a refund.

I know this is so ***. I have the Zen X-Fi with Rhapsody To Go Service and I had all of my songs uploaded to it but they all got that error message whenever I tried to play them. This only happened about two months after I re-formated it for the same problem, so it keeps on occuring, and I can play songs that I've bought, this is so *** because this happens at the worst times when I need my player the most.

On our new Creative Zen X-Fi, fast forward or rewind on a downloaded WMA book from Overdrive, the player will occasionally hang and need to be reset.  We have the latest firmware.

I cannot fast forward or rewind since I dropped my Creative Zen V Plus (2 gig) in the toilet over a year ago. Otherwise, it works fine.

SOURCE: Creative Zen Nano Plus FROZEN!!!

here is a fix if your creative zen nano plus just hang on the creative logo when you turn your player on.
download, Creative ZEN Nano Plus firmware.
you can find it at the creative website, download section.
double click the file you just dl'ed, now make sure your
zen nano player is already connected to your pc when you run the file. it may take a bit of time before your pc can detect your zen nano be patient, a window prompt will soon appear asking if you want to update your firmware with the one youve just dl'ed.
now, dont worry if the firmware is the same as the one already
installed in your zen nano, just continue with the update.
you can also check the box in which there is the option of also formatting the drive. ( note: all files in your zen nano will be lost)
after the firmware is flashed you can now play and transfer files to your zen nano plus.

1. Fully charge the unit
2. Get a song to play
3. Lock the device
4. Wait for black screen and leave it like that for 20 seconds
5. Hold the play/pause button down and move the side switch out of lock mode, then push all the way down (like you're turning it off) and release (back to middle position)
6. Release the play/pause button

My Creative Zen has Frozen on a particular song.........

while it is off slide down the power thing while holding play and resseting it with a safety pin, paperclip, staple, etc., this should bring you to the zen format screen thing, select "clean up" this should fix the problem and still save all of your files, if this doesn't work try the other options from the zen format screen.

For Creative Vision M:
While playing the book or song click on the bottom right button, ->= ,to set a bookmark at the current location. Then use bottom left button, <- ,to go to the top level menu and select System->Player Settings->My Shortcut Button->Jump to:->Bookmarks. After setting the short cut button to jump to bookmarks, you can then go to a previously set bookmark at any time.

Creative Zen Nano plus -512 MB

well it shouldnt play the first song in the folder. it should automatically play the song where you left off. and when you are changing the EQ, make sure that you are pressing in the selector key. (the key at the bottom to the right of the volume control keys) as it may take a while to adjust to your volume settings
