I have this card reader b/c my usb adapter to my camera will not work. Usually when I insert the card reader it takes me right to where it gives me options, either copy pictures or view, etc. Now it takes me to my camera file. How do I change that? It's like it is redirecting it or something.

You have so many ways to do this. It depends on the function of your phone or camera. You can transfer it via bluetooth or if you have a memory card reader, you can insert the card given that its an SD card. If its the micro one, you need to get the microsd to sd adapter.
From there, you can manage your photos.
#1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com #2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives. #3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive. #4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'. #5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place. #6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
it may be password protected so,insert in a mobile and go to options 'memory' after seeing memory option in mobile screen again go to option and click remove password. Then you have to enter the password that was kept by you and then your memory will be unlocked. Then remove memory and insert into the computer with the help of a card reader. Now you will be able to read your memory

I guess you put the SD adapter into the card reader right out of the box? You first may have to partition/format it after unpacking it. Under WinXP I can recommend an utility "DiskPart" which you can start from the command prompt (Run... -> cmd). For further instructions (if it sounds to you to be the problem ) contact me again.
