Using a brother MFC-J415W printer, what are the steps in sending a fax?

How to fax :
1. Entering fax mode To enter fax mode press (Fax), and the key will glow green.
2. Sending a fax from the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder): Using the ADF to send your faxes is the easiest way. To cancel a fax in progress press Stop/Exit.
a. Make sure you are in Fax mode . b. Place your document face up in the ADF. c. Dial the fax number. d. Press Start.
The machine scans the pages into memory and then sends the document.
3. Sending a fax from the scanner glass : You can use the scanner glass to fax the pages of a book, or a single page at a time. The documents can be up to Letter or A4 size. Press Stop/Exit to cancel a fax in progress.
a. Make sure you are in Fax mode . b. Place your document face down on the scanner glass. c. Dial the fax number. d. Press Start. The machine starts scanning the first page.

How to fax (face up or face down)

Hello,

If you put the document on the glass surface, your document should be face down. If instead you use the automatic feed on top of the machine you should place your document face up and the top of the page inside he feeder.

Hope it helps.

Fax to location does not pickup and goes into

Adjust you transmission speed to the lowest setting then try.
Keep boosting speed up until you can no longer connect then back down one speed.
This brand is known for communication problems with other brand of fax machines. This is the only workaround that has supplied results for me.

Sublect:Problems With My MFC 420 CN / All In One Machine

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Faxing

If you are using the Auto-feeder, it needs to be face up. If you are placing the document on the glass, then it needs to be face down.

Problem with my fax Machine MFC 420CN

You can cancel a fax job that is stored and waiting in the memory.
1 For MFC-210C,
press Menu/Set, 2, 5.
For MFC-420CN,
press Menu/Set, 2, 6.
Any jobs that are waiting will appear on the LCD.
2 If you have more than one job waiting, press ▲ or ▼ to select the
job you want to cancel.
Press Menu/Set.
—OR—
If you only have one job waiting, go to Step 3.
3 Press 1 to cancel.
To cancel another job go to Step 2.
—OR—
Press 2 to exit without canceling.
4 Press Stop/Exit.

That should do it for clearing faxes you dont need you can also print off all the faxes in the memory and I believe that clears it.
Enjoy,
Lee
