Question about RCA HD52W56 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Picture cut off

I have a 52" rca hdtv and my pictures are cutting off. The head of every channel is cut off. I tried dvds also to see if it was a problem with my satellite system but the same thing happened with movies. All the pictures are going to the top and you only can see the bottom half of the pictures.

Its possible that CL029 has failed. I have seen that caps cause the picture to be stretched.

RCA D56W20 picture problems

More information is required to properly troubleshoot this problem. How is your television connected when you are watching HD? Do you have HDMI for this, do you have a satellite or digital cable box? For analogue are you using regular coax antenna (cable TV), or are you going through a cable or satellite box?
This could be related to the aspect ration setting. perhaps you ahve changed your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 or some other setting. If you are connected via HDMI, then the digital signal may be "normalizing" your picture during HD, but reverting back to the other setting.

Check you video settings very carefully. HD televisions are very difficult to tweak properly.

On your remote push "Info" then push right or left to get OFF zoom mode, Cinema view looks pretty good.
