My Bosch electric kettle is leaking and also stops working before reaching boiling point. What shld I do?

If your Bosch electric kettle is leaking and stopping before reaching boiling point, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check for Obvious Leaks: Examine the kettle for any visible cracks, holes, or signs of damage. Ensure that the water isn't leaking from the base or any seams. If you find any leaks, it's likely that the kettle needs to be replaced, as repairing leaks can be challenging and may compromise safety.
  2. Inspect the Power Base: Examine the power base of the kettle to ensure that there are no electrical issues. Make sure the power cord is securely connected and that there are no exposed wires.
  3. Check Water Level and Boil-Dry Protection: Ensure that you are filling the kettle with an appropriate amount of water. Some electric kettles have a minimum and maximum water level indicator. Additionally, many kettles are equipped with a boil-dry protection feature, which automatically turns off the kettle if it detects insufficient water. Make sure you are not accidentally triggering this safety feature.
  4. Descale the Kettle: Mineral deposits from hard water can build up inside the kettle and affect its performance. Descaling the kettle can help improve efficiency and prevent issues. You can use a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to descale the kettle. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for descaling.
  5. Contact Customer Support: If the issues persist, and your kettle is still under warranty, contact Bosch's customer support or the retailer where you purchased the kettle. They may provide guidance on troubleshooting or offer a replacement if the product is defective.
  6. Consider Professional Repair: If the kettle is no longer under warranty and you cannot resolve the issues yourself, you might consider taking it to a professional appliance repair service. They can assess the problem and determine if it's worth repairing.

Does anyone of a company that can repair my Bugatti vera kettle. It powers up but won't boil

When did you last descale it? Chances are that if you haven't descaled it at least once a month, the limescale has caused it to malfunction. You can try descaling it now, but there's no guarantee that this will fix the problem.

I have a Russell Hobbs whisper quiet kettle that used to be very quiet and now is extremely loud when boiling. How can I fix this?

I descaled my kettle because it needed to be done (it was quiet before I descaled). However, it has become noisy since I descaled. Any suggestions, most welcome?

Kettle is noisy. How do I descale?

There are some descaler solutions available that can be bought at supermarkets. After you use any of them please make sure that you fully fill up to the maximum level allowed with water, boil it, drain it (dont use it) twice before it can be used for usual consumption.
You can have a look here http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-descale-a-kettle

I bought the Russell Hobbs Whisper Kettle expecting it to boil quietly. Wrong. It is quite the opposite. Not sure if I can take it back due to "false advertising"??

Have you tried descaling the kettle? When scale builds up over the whisper quiet element, it reduces the effectiveness, and the kettle becomes noisy. Try 1 tablespoon of citric acid, fill the kettle to the max line, boil the kettle then leave for 10 minutes. Rinse and repeat if necessary.

How do I clean

Fill kettle until 3/4 full with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Boil and allow to stand overnight.

Empty solution from kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to boil and discard water. Repeat and the kettle will be ready for use.

Or you can use a proprietary kettle descaler, which is available at most hardware stores.

How to descale Philips HD 4651/C Electric Water Kettle

Not having received any solution message from FIXYA contributors, I consulted with a family member
and also my long held Time-Life Books, Fix It Yourself Library, Volume: Cleaning & Stain Removal,

Kettle keeps Turning off and on.

Try descaling the kettle for about an hour with some white vinegar without heating. Hopefully the problem is caused by limescale on the thermostat/thermocouple and this will cure it. If this doesn't seem to help then probably the thermostat/thermocouple is to blame, and although easy to replace, it seems that the best way to get the right bits is an authorised tefal dealer. This link will get you the user manual for your kettle if you need it; http://www.t-fal.ca/tefal/products/product/index.asp?univers%5Fid=400&dept%5Fid=430&sku=L00056&mscssid=JXT37R7ERWKH9P2URRA8CLM0SHMF327C Also it has the contacts for tefal customer service(Canada) if you need. Hope the descaling helps, it usually does the trick :)
