Toshiba 27wlt56b TV - No picture

I have bought a 2nd hand Toshiba 27wlt56B for UK which does not have a power supply??? I have a power lead (3 flat prong connector) which fits into the TV. When I switch the TV on the and press the remote the standby light turns to green but screen remains the same (no light and blank). Is there something that I should read into the TV not having a "power supply" which is actually in the TV itself or is the TV faulty?
Thanks,

Martyn

If it is a LCD TV, and there is a faint picture, it is probably the backlight or inverter board (probably the latter). This is a common problem (especially with PC monitors).
Do an internet search for your model and inverter, you may be able to replace it.
Make SURE you REMOVE the power lead before opening the set !!!!

Hi,
It seems just channel stored data issue.
Please perform Auto Preset / Auto Channel / Auto Tuning (mentioned menu items) and store all channels again.
Hope problem will resolve.

Power supply probably needs to be replaced if you don't even hear the relay click after the power is switched on.

Why is my tv saying when i try to set it up no signal. it is a toshiba 27wlt56b can you help please ?

It only says "no signal" on the screen, when it does not get a signal. So check you did plug in the correct cable from your antenna or receiver. Also check the cable for bad contacts. Do check an antenna amplifier if it gets the power it needs (when used)

TV comes on, but, no picture, no sound

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Hi, Need users manual for Toshiba 37XV505, picture gone tv only 4 months old, Help

A user manual will do you no good for a tv that has lost its picture. You will need a service manual. Your tv sounds like it's a 37 inch lcd or plasma tv. The cause could possibly be puffed capacitors on the power supply. If you feel confident, you could check the power supply pcb and visually look at all the caps on it to see if they are puffed.
To do this you need to lay the tv face down on a cushioned surface large enough to support the tv by the frame. This is to prevent any damage to the panel. Then remove all the screws securing the back of the tv to the frame. Look at the power supply pcb, it is the board with the power cord attached to it, for puffy caps. If they are puffed they need to be replaced. Replace with capacitors of equal or slightly greater values. The values are marked on the caps themselves in mfd and voltage.
If they look good, take a multimeter and test the dc voltage outputs, usually marked on the power supply near connectors with different colored wires. There should be three of them together. Take the black lead of your multimeter and connect it to chassis ground, and the red lead use to check the voltages.

I bought 2nd hand Apple Studio 15" monitor without power supply- where can I find one not over £50? Is there a generic supply I could use or is it locked down to apple supplies, which are thin...

Anytime I purchase second hand devices, especially Apple, I go on Ebay.com. It sounds like you're in the UK so you may want to search on Ebay.uk to keep shipping costs down. Just type in your model. I purchase quite a few Apple products and the particular power supply you're searching for should be under 15 pounds UK.

Tv picture keeps going out audio does not about every two or three min.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

Assuming power supply voltages are correct,ie regulated sources, you will need access to the servicer menu via the service manual or CD ROM info for that make/model.(2)reset screen control adjust on IHVT (transformer).(3)solder any/all bad connects, esp.regulator pins. Practice visual acuity technique!!
