I have the same problem. My camera is less then a year old, was working fine, thought it was the batteries, again, beeps 3 times and shuts off. I have no manuel to refer baack to and there is nothing listed online to reset the camera. It's a great little camera but didn't think it would stop performing with in a year.

This camera demands fresh batteries. I've bought new alkaline batteries and had it reject the package. I bought the highest amperage rechargeable batteries and my camera works just fine.

You do have the set the menu for the rechargeable batteries. Oddly, rechargeable batteries last longer than alkaline batteries in this camera.

My nikon coolpix l20 wont power on

Pardon the dumb question, but are the batteries good and inserted properly?

Does the camera respond at all when you press the power button? Any beeps, flashing lights, messages on the screen, the lens trying to extend from the camera body? Anything?

When the power is turned on, the lens stays in the camera, it starts beeping and it tells you to turn the power off and on again

1) Remove SD Card.
2) Remove Battery.
3) Hold power button for 10 seconds.
4) Install Battery.
5) Attempt to power on.
6) If works, reinstall SD Card and you're ready to go!

Thanks and please rate if this helps you!

Turn on the power and the camera beeps 3 times?

hmmm... accesses the card ok? 3 beeps on a computer is a memory thing... might try a differnt SD card... Otherwise, probably is trash, cameras are so cheap that having a shop repair them is just not worth it.

Peace,

Won't turn on

I had something similar happen after five minutes. The included batteries are crap, try some rechargeables or brand new alkaline. Be warned this camera likes to eat alkalines but does well with nimh.

Beep

The Polaroid Fun! Digital 320 camera is programmed to shut off automatically after a few minutes if it is not being used. This helps to conserve battery power. When the camera shuts itself off, it will make a continual beeping sound. To use the camera after it has shut off, simply push the shutter button or self-timer button to take a picture. If you are not going to use your camera, turn the power switch to OFF. The camera will also beep in rapid sequence after you press the self-timer button. The camera will continue to beep in faster sequence until a picture is taken (approximately 10 seconds). A final long beep signals that a picture has been taken. NOTE: It is normal for the camera to beep while downloading photos to a computer.
