I just purchased a Satellite series laptop from a local Best Buy retailer. Immediately i was taken by its preformance and am overall impressed, but i would not be here if i did not have a complaint or problem. When i try to change my Toshibas screen resolution, the resolution does not change -- The screen just gets small and black bars coat the sides of it. Whenever i try to play a full-screen video game on this laptop it never fits my screen so i have to work with a tiny box in the center. I would like to know how to really set my games to full-screen and how to change resolution while keeping the whole 17" screen i paid for.
This is a common problem with Toshiba Notebooks. Their driver is locked onto Intel version 13.29 which is a buggy driver that has an issue keeping the aspect ratio settings in the control panel. You will want to download Intel's 15.9 drivers (the zip file for developers) and force that driver to install on the notebook by manually installing the driver in the device manager.
Another fix is to enable hot keys in the intel graphics control panel and press control , shift , f11 when the game starts to change the aspect ratios of the screen.
Its annoying yes and I wish i would have known about this myself before purchasing a toshiba sattlelite.

My wireless connection worked fine up until today...I have reset the switch on the front of my Acer Aspire 5110 and it continues to be ''orange'' rather than ''green'' that would indicate is on and working properly When trying to re-set up a wireless connection, I continue to get an error message telling me that the cable is unplugged? We are on a LAN, using a router, I have a connection just fine on my desktop, which is what I am on.
