Whenever you surf the Web, you leave yourself open to being snooped upon by web sites. They can track your online travels, know what operating system and browser you're running, find out your machine name, peer into your clipboard, uncover the last sites you've visited, examine your history list, delve into your cache, examine your IP address and use that to learn basic information about you such as your geographic location, and more. To a great extent, your Internet life is an open book when you visit.
Don't believe me? Head to http://www.anonymizer.com/snoop/test_ip.shtml. This page, run by the Anonymizer.com web service, tells you what your IP address and machine name are. And that's just a start. Click on the links on the left side, such as "Exposed Clipboard" and "Geographical Location." You'll see just a small sampling of what web sites can learn about you.
Much of the reason why web sites can find out this information about you is due to the trusting nature of the Internet's infrastructure and is inherent in the open client/server relationship between your web browser and the servers on the sites you visit. But a lot of it also has to do with the ability to match up information from your PC to information in publicly available databases—for example, databases that have information about IP addresses.
The best way to make sure web sites can't gather personal information about you and your computer is to surf anonymously; use an anonymous proxy server to sit between you and the web sites you visit. When you use an anonymous proxy server, your browser doesn't contact a web site directly. Instead, it tells a proxy server which web site you want to visit. The proxy server then contacts the web site, and when you get the web site's page you don't get it directly from the site. Instead, it's delivered to you by the proxy server. In that way, your browser never directly contacts the web server whose site you want to view. The web site sees the IP address of the proxy server, not your PC's IP address. It can't read your cookies, see your history list, or examine your clipboard and cache, because your PC is never in direct contact with it. You're able to surf anonymously, without a trace.
There are two primary ways to use anonymous proxy servers. You can run client software on your PC, which does the work of contacting the server for you, or you can instead visit a web site, which then does the work of contacting the server.

My school block it how do i find another proxy site

Trick 1. Anonymous Browsing

Use free Proxy Server which allows you to browse the web anonymously and access sites that are blocked. Here is the list of few proxy servers which I came across while Googling..

http://www.proxybrowsing.com/
http://www.hidemyass.com/
http://www.browserjump.com/
http://www.ninjaproxy.com/
http://www.kproxy.com/
http://proxify.com/
http://www.w3privacy.com/
Trick 2. Google Translation

In case if your organization has blocked all the anonymous proxy servers, you can use Google Translator( also called as Google Language Tools) service as your proxy server. Google Translator translate pages from one language to another language. You can surf the blocked web pages by translating them from English to English(or any language which you desire).

Replace WEBSITE with your favorite site address in the following URL and start accessing them

http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en'en&u=WEBSITE
Example: http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en'en&u=http://mgopinath.blogspot.com

Trick 3. Google Mobile Search

Google Mobile search service translates HTML pages to mobile phone browser compatible by removing style sheets and java script. You can use this service to browse the web pages in text only format.

Replace WEBSITE with your favorite site address in the following URL to start accessing them

http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=WEBSITE
Example: http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=mgopinath.blogspot.com

Trick 4. Search Engine Cache

Enter the blocked URL in Google or Yahoo search engines and then visit the cached copy of the page.

If you know any other tricks please leave the information about them as comments

How can i open facebook without using proxies and the most effective way? The administration in the office blocked facebook and so the proxies how can i open facebook then?

There are 2 ways.
Normally in an office environment all web traffic is intercepted and forced through a proxy, where these rules can be applied.
The one way is assuming your company does not block all ports on a firewall is to use a proxy subscription service. You simple enter the proxy details of your service, in your browser and you are surfing.
If they do have a firewall, your choices are more limited. You can subscribe to a VPN service, and connect to the VPN and surf through that link, or you can use say your mobile phone as a modem on your computer and surf through 3G / EDGE / GPRS
The last option is what is called an anonymizer. You surf to a website, enter the new URL on that website, and you surf to the destination URL inside the other website. (see http://www.anonymizer.com/ )
Not that I condone you breaking company rules, as they probably have a reason for blocking it, but this is the methods you can use.

Cant login

Do a search under anonymizer, private web surfing, and proxies. Unless they have configured their firewall to block them, right along with blocking Myspace and other social networking sites. BUT, there are LOTS of different internet-privacy and anonymizer sites out there, just keep trying different ones until you find one that works with the firewall settings at your school. THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES! You might only have to try one or two of them, OR,..you may have to go through 60 before you find one that will work for you. OR,..you may never find one that works if your school's firewall at all. ****WARNING: **** The use of a proxy or anonymizer, might be against the rules at your school. If so,..use them at your own risk!

Youtube is blocked

Get to You-Tube from work or school, even through a firewall by using an Anonymizer or Private web surfing site For years internet privacy experts have been using anonymizers, Proxies, private web-surfing services and other identity hiding software or services to get to websites privately.
proxy-settings.jpg These anonymizers and Anonymous web surfing services are usually used to hide your tracks while surfing the internet, making it impossible for anyone to trace what web-pages you have visited - but you can also use anonymizers and proxies to access YouTube and other websites at school or work that are blocked by a firewall. These anonymous web surfing services when used together with Firefox will usually let you get around any firewall.
Most web-proxy services or anonymizers are not free, but many do offer partial service for free or a free trial period, which might work for you depending on what type of firewall your school uses.
You may have to try a few different internet anonymous web surfing services or proxies to see which one works best with the firewall that your school or office has. Most of these services do not require you to install any software on the computer you're using at. You simply log into their website from work or school, then use the service to get to YouTube.com or whatever websites your school or business firewall is blocking. You can use these services with or without Firefox.

How an anonymizer gets around a firewall An anonymizer or Private web-surfing service gets around your school's firewall by setting up a connection between your computer and the anonymizer service or proxy, so the firewall only sees the connection from you to them. The anonymizer's computers then connect to YouTube.com (or Hotmail, Myspace, etc) with their internet connection and send the data back to you. To the school's firewall it looks like your computer is connecting to the proxy's web address and not Youtube.com.
Some schools block proxys and anonymous web surfing sites, especially the free ones, so you may have to try a few to find one that works The I.T. guys at your school or in your company's I.T. Department might be smart enough to configure their firewall to block the common proxys and private web-surfing websites and services right along with blocking YouTube.com. Lucky for you, there are LOTS of different internet-proxy and anonymizer services to choose from! You may have to experiment with different proxies until you find one that works with the firewall settings at your school or in your office at work.
There are no guarantees when they block YouTube.com You might only have to try one or two different anonyimizers or web-proxy services before you can connect to YouTube.com from school. You might also try 50 and never find one that works if your school's firewall is really good. The only way to find it is to try. WARNING: The use of web-proxies or anonymizers to bypass firewalls might be against the rules at your school or place of employment. If using proxies is against the rules, use them at your own risk or don't use them at all!
