Yamada 6600 - Not working at all!!!! please help me :-)

Hi There,

I bought it from a friend of mine, that now is come back to italy, he said that it's perfect and it can play any dvd divx etc etc...

I don't know why but at his home it was working, we tried it togheter, but with me it doesn't work (probably because I'm a girl :-)) joking).

As first I've connected the scart to the divx and the TV, well, the Tv showed the yamada divx on the video...

I tried to insert the first divx and after a while "loading" it says "no disc"... I changed thinking that it could be a used divx so may be not perfect... and also the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, divx disc wasn't recognized by the player... that's strange!

At the end it tried with a DVD bought the day before (so original and new) but as always after a while "loading" it says "no disk"... that's impossible!

How can it happen?

So I tried changing the setup menu... with a lot of combinations... but it doesn't work as well...

Can anyone help me?

I don't know if I need other cables or not... I've connected the scart (TV to YAMADA) and after the player to the plug in the wall... is there anything else to connect?

My TV is a big old-fashion mitsubishi in color (so no plasma or other new)

Pleeeaseeee... I'm desperate...

Thanks

Apologies for my bad english... I'm an italian in london so sometimes I make a lot of mistakes

Cheers

Caterina

-   my player developed the same problem unexpectedly. i've opened it up and it appears the motor that makes it spin is finding it hard to get it going (if you give the disc a little flick to help it along it will spin and proceed to read the disc). either the motor is tired or the voltage/power to it has dropped. i have no idea how to make it work fully when closed up. -   yamada6600

-   I have just the same problem on my Yamada. Yesterday I took it on again after some months. At first it suddenly worked for a while but then it began again, loading...no disc...
I tried to find possible bad connections and solderings with hot gun and cold spray, no help. I measured the voltages of power supply, they all are a littlebit lower as said on board bu I think it is not the problem.
