Did you set to AV 1, 2, 3 or DVD input, it is depend to where it connected to..whether you connect to the AV input front panel, or rear. if not sure you can connect it to the front panel and sequentially sets the AV source, if still the same. you can connect the cable to the DVD input should be the type of cable TV .. PS 3 is like this:

Doesnt show up on the television. It does turn on. turned playstation on and off, tried different connections, still nothing

It is likely that the problem is your AV cable. This cable has one plug that connects to your Playstation 3 and a red plug, a white plug, and a yellow plug that connects to your television. Follow these steps to get your PS3 up and running again
  1. Unplug your AV cable from your PS3 and T.V.
  2. Plug in your AV cable to your PS3 and T.V.
When plugging your AV cable back into the T.V. make sure that the red plug is in the red socket, the yellow plug is in the yellow socket and the white plug is in the white socket.
If problems persist try using a different AV cable.

I cant hook it up to the tv

Run a three color AV cord (red, white, yellow) from the output of your surround sound receiver to the "DVD" input on your TV. The yellow is for video and the red and white are for audio so make sure you plug the tips into the same color ports. Now look at where you put the 3 color cord (AV cord) into the TV, which "input" did you use? Video 1 or Video 2 more than likely. Now turn your TV on and in the menu settings select the same video input you hooked the AV cords into on the back of your TV. This will get your theater set up. The remote is slow to process after you push buttons so give the remote a few seconds to respond.

I turn the ps3 on but the video doesn't appear. i checked the tv and cords and nothing was wrong with them.

Did you check that the AV cords are plugged in right? Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow? Are they properly connected in the back of the PS3 not loose connections? It could also be that the PS3 display settings are at a really high resolution for your T.V. Try reset the PS3 resolution settings back to factory settings by turning the PS3 off and then hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds and you will hear some beeps it will load your PS3 resolution at 480i. Should give you your screen back.

How do i connect a playstation 3 to a philips tv

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is a high-definition gaming console that supports both standard AV connections and high-resolution connections (such as HDMI). Most of the older Philips TVs come with a standard AV input. Newer, flat-panel Philips TVs include standard AV inputs and high-resolution inputs. To get the best video quality out of your PS3, using an HDMI connection is recommended if the option is available. The PS3 does not include an HDMI cable, only a standard AV cable

Standard AV
  • 1 Turn off the PS3.
  • 2 Connect the flat end of the PS3 AV cable into the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.
  • 3 Connect the "red," "white" and "yellow" prongs on the opposite end of the PS3 AV cable into the corresponding "red," "white" and "yellow" AV inputs on the TV (usually located on the side or in the back).
  • 4 Press the "Source" button on the Philips TV remote.
  • 5 Select the "AV" video display mode.
  • 6 Turn on the PS3. The PS3 logo will appear on the screen.
  • HDMI Connection

I have an Envision AOC 32 tv monitor and want to hook my WII up to it, It has yellow white and red wires. The back of the monitor has HMDI, PC Cable, and coax connectors. It also has speaker out puts and...

Yellow Is VIDEO, Red & White is your AUDIO. (Stereo). They should go color to color on the TV's AV input. This is AV, and you use 3 wires to connect this way.
The Red, Green, & Blue, is called COMPONENT, & is ONLY VIDEO, the AUDIO, still must use Red & White. So to connect with Component you use 5 wires, altogether, 3 for Video, 2 for Audio.
Plug them in color to color & choose the right INPUT on the TV, and turn on your input device.

Hooked up ps3 using hmdi cable worked not working now using the

    mpc heesman1 might be right...

However. I´m inclined to think that you did change the input on your TV. So your problem is another, this is what you have to to to reset:

    1. Unplug the HDMI cable from both the TV and PS3.
    2. Plug in the AV MULTI OUT cable (the red, white, yellow one provided along with the system) to both your PS3 and TV.
    3. Set the TV input to the correct one and turn it on.
    4. turn on the PS3 with the front button but DON´T release it, keep your finger on it, until you hear a second beep, thats when you release the button, the PS3 will start to identify what it´s connected to and will display it on your TV.

    Hope it helps.

How do i hook up my dvd player

    Hello,

Get the appropriate cord for connecting the DVD player to the TV.

The chord should be three joined together. Its called an AV wire. It has yellow, white and red color at the mouth of the pin.

The yellow is for Video (Visual) while the red and white are for audio (sound).

Since the DVD is to show on the TV, the wire has to be connected as follows:

    1. Insert the yellow wire in to the yellow part of the video out of the DVD.
    2. Insert the white and red wire in to the white and red part respectively to the audio out of the DVD.
    3. Connect the other part of the yellow wire to the input of the TV
    4. Connect the white and red wire to input like wise.
    5. Put on the TV and select to AV from the TV remote and you will see a display of your DVD at the background of the TV.
At this stage you can start watching.

    Take care.

I can't figure out how to connect our dvd player to the tv. We also have a cable box and a tivo box. The dvd player has the cord with the red, yellow and white plugs on both ends but I can't figure out...

Look at the back or side of TV you will see AV in with the same colors Yellow, Red, White. Just follow the code and plug your DVD cable accordingly. Remember to switch the menu to AV to see the program.
