The charge port might be damaged, I would recommend trying to charge the battery with another charger / phone, or try another battery.
The shutting down part, I will assume something either got loose or the power button might be cause the issue. Which means you might need to replace that, depending on the phone, it might need soldering.
The last idea I can come up with is water damage, you would have to open the phone to make sure, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.
All in all I would say bring it to a repair store near you.
have you tried holding the power button and the home button on the front together? Anything?
if that doesnt work power up your comp with most recent itunes on it and hold the home button down on the iphone and keep held down while plugging to comp and keep held until a message appears on itunes saying a phone has been detected in recovery mode, then restore your iphone as new.
if your phone is over heating then its a safety issue, see if your still in your years warrenty and if you are give apple a ring they should help you out under your limited warrenty
Poor design and I believe this requires a recall. The problem is the
fact that when the phone is closed everyone would think that all the
internal buttons become locked, WRONG I found out that all is locked
except the power button. So with the env3 all you need to do is unlock
the phone by pressing OK (how hard is that, it's the easiest button to
push), then pinch and hold down the top left corner of the phone (where
the power button exist underneath) you will notice the sound of a
button push (which is the sound of the power button underneath being
pushed) and bam, you phone turns off. It is more easy to turn your
phone off this way then to use the button in front to turn it off. Like
most of us, we don't worry about the phone in our pockets or purse, or
even in our phone case clipped on our belts and many times we found our
env3 unlocked with random numbers on it. That doesn't bother me, it
happens with cell phones, what really bothers me is the fact that the
power button internally still works when it is closed and all it takes
is for you to lean against something or have it in your pocket and
pinch that one corner and you will never know that your phone turned
We just bought this phone today and after a few hours, it just started rebooting randomly. We were getting ready to return the phone, and then updated the firmware and now have no more reboots. Here are the steps for a firmware update:
From the Home icon select, the OK/Menu button
Go to Tools
Scroll down to Update Phone (or press #) and press OK
Select Updated Firmware (or press 1)
Follow onscreen instructions
After the download completes, the firmware package is installed. For the last several hours, we've had no more reboots or power downs.
There might be an internal short circuit /loose connector , it happens that when it short circuits the electricty gets dicharged causing the phone to turn off without reason ,Try exhanging it from the warrenty or if the store allows you to exhange it
Hey ok - Pls switch your phone off - then hold down * and 3 and green (answer) buttons, then get someone to power it on cos its alot of pressing! then keep holding and see where it takes you! Bingo! Hope it works!
