How do I keep my refrig/freezer from defrosting in the winter when store in the garage.

There is only one source of cold in many refrigerators. If yours is a top freezer, then most likely it is in the freezer.
But the thermostat that you set temperature with is in the refrigerator, not the freezer.
In the cold garages, what can happen is that the refrigerator stays cold enough that it does not call for cold. So the freezer does not get enough cold.
The freezer control works by diverting cold air into the freezer WHEN THE RERIGERATOR HAS TURNED ON THE COOLING. If it is not turned on, oh well.
The best you can do for this is to put both on max cold. Then the refrigerator will call for more cold at a lower temperature, and the freezer will get it more often and will divert more when it is cooling.
This can result in the refrigerator freezing things too. You can try raising the refrigerator setting JUST A LITTLE and see if both work, but keep freezer on max cool.
This works for my situation, but ambient temperature fluctuations in the garage make this dicey. We don't put things like lettuce in the refrigerator in the garage in the winter because freezing damages them.
Good Luck

I have a whirlpool freezer on top with ice maker the freezer is working great but my fridge is not cold my milk keeps spoiling & nothing stays cool

Sounds like a defrost problem. Three things can be wrong... Defrost heater, defrost timer or defrost thermostat.

Ge tfx25jrbb-ww refridgerator not cooling

The first thing to check is if you can hear the fan running inside the freezer. This not only keeps the whole freezer cold it alspo circulates air down to the refrigerator keeping it cool as well.

The freezer keeps defrosting.....starts to cool down then back in defrost mode again. Also the bottom of the fridge is not keeping things cold anymore. Could you please help me on what could be...

the defrosting mode could a problem with the defroster timer. as for the bottom one if the top is not cooling the bottom one wont either. the freezer fan is what also keeps the bottom frig cool. the defrost timer should be on the bottom frig close to the ligth.

Refrigerator does not get cold. The freezer works fine, but the fridge only gets slightly cool.

normaly the fridge has its own thermostat to keep the tem right, if this thermostat has stoped working it will do one of two things,,, freez every thing up as it wont turn off the compressor or will just stop working as it wont turn on the compressor,,, try turning up the thermostat first,
