Neptune MDE4000Ayw squeaking when running

Does this have a belt that could be causing this?

squealing while running, I took it apart and found the tub roller on the right side worn and making rusty fine dust, you can see this in the bottom of the dryer base pan if you look with a flashlight on the right (or left) below the back wall. the axle pin does not look to be removable, but the roller is. I lube it with hi-temp heavy grease, but apparently it does not last, most shops tell me NO grease. So it's time to replace the roller, it's just a little too loose. Good luck.

If its squeaking it means that in wants to be grease or lubed
all mechanical devices need some form of maintence to run properly lube the motor the drum the track wheels but not with wd40 use appliance lubericant or call your local maytag man to come out and do routine maintenance on your neptune

also to the guru if there was a foreign object stuck between drum and body it would be like throwing a monkey wrench into a clock towers gears it would slam to a hault so i dont believe in the object stuck theory

Dryer sqeaks while it's running

This could be the result of a loose/worn belt, or worn drum roller bearings. Is it a constant squeal or a squeak......squeak.........squeak, basically in time with the RPM of the drum? If that is the case, get new drum bearings. If the former is the case, get a new belt.

Maytag dryer (MDE4000AYW) making a sorta grinding noise when the start button is pressed then the drive motor starts up & the grinding stops. It sounds like a starter or transmission problem but I...

Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time. Dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it. Some dryers support the clothes drum in the rear with a center spindle instead of rollers. The spindle may be a ball-and-socket type support or a shaft through a sleeve. When the components are worn, they may squeak, squeal, or rub. You can't repair them. Just replace them when they're worn.

My dryer squeaks model #mde3600ayw

Many reasons for this to happen. First the seal surrounding the drum to the front panel maybe dirty causing this squeak
In the other hand most squeaks are caused by the dried up bearing inside the roller for the belt tensioner. If so replace the belt and tensioner pulley for the belt gets stretched by a worn pulley and will break eventually too

It is a mod MDE4000AYW. How do I put the belt back on?

Hi welcome to Fixya

You must pop off the top of the dryer then remove the front after the front is off you can remove drum .
The belt goes around the drum and the motor pully and under the tentioner wheel after you get belt on replace front and top.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG FROM POWER THIS IS 220volts AND CAN HURT YOU BAD

Thank You For Useing Fixya

Changing the drum rollers on a Maytag MDE4000AYW Neptune Dryer..

The instructions above are perfect for most Maytag Dryers, but the Neptune MDE4000AYW is built differently from most. To open it, undo the two screws that run through the door hinges, and remove the door, then undo the two other screws that are on the opposite side of the doorway. With these four screws out, you can lift the front panel UP and out. Make sure you unplug the dryer first :-)
