At first the screen was jumping, now there are ghost images on the screen, the reg. pic then a green image and a purplish pink image above that one. the images at the top and bottom are both bowed in. any hope that this may be fixable? It had a really clear pic until we hooked up our wii to it.

From your description, it sounds like an alignment problem. There are 3 LCD panels in the projector. Each one displays an exact duplicate image of the others except it's either red, green, or blue. Under normal conditions, the images precisely overlay one another so you get a sharp image. Due to age, heat, or vibration/shock(impact) it would appear that the red LCD panel has shifted a little, giving the "ghosting" effect. You'll have to have the unit repaired by a qualified tech. He'll have the special electronic equipment needed to align the panels properly. Before sending the unit in, try a reset in the menu. Sometimes, the projectors can shift the image electronically, using math algorithms which will try to auto-sharpen the display. Hope I was able to help!---Rick
I had a similar problem with my LG plasma. I used the Image Sticking Minimization (Pixel Orbitor, White Wash, and Inversion) feature which is designed to prevent image burn in and ghosting. This ISM feature may be available on the Samsung or any other brand under a different name. I activated the "white wash" option for about 30 mins, the screen turns white and somehow the pixels get reset. The green noise disappeared after that. I hope this helps.Phezbuster
There are 3-4 issues in here,one of them might be a bad convertion part in there. It is not worth your time and money to guess the issue,if it is under warranty,you should take it back.If not,repair tech. would be the way to go! solutiondoct
According to many respected sources with far more expertise than myself, the symptoms you are describing also fall within the realm of Canon CCD failure. In Canon's Service Notice: CCD Image Sensor Advisory, they outline the most common symptoms (distorted images, LCD showing only a black screen, etc.). They have conveniently limited the description to the bare minimum. More symptoms of the failing CCD include: pictures appearing on LCD show up with severe color variations (pink-purplish or green tint), colored "streaks" or "lines" throughout pictures, and wavy distortions in image. Most of these symptoms include the color variations, but not always. The lines or waves can appear in any direction and with varying degrees of severity. Some LCDs do not go black, but turn totally purple. Here is a link to a very informative article that should clear up any questions you might have. They will ask questions to identify whether or not you are having the same symptoms as described in the Product Advisory. I have been through this twice, and both times they were very nice and very helpful. Even if you don't qualify for the free repair, it didn't cost a thing to find out.
