Question about HP OfficeJet D135 All-In-One InkJet Printer

J6580 all-in-one printer - the display panel light is ALWAYS on

Hello... I bought a j6480 just last week - I like the wireless and double-side printing features not to mention fax/scan/copy/print all-in-one flexibility.

However, my fgripe is the the printer's display panel:

1) the display panel light is ALWAYS ON even when not in use. This machine has an ENERGY STAR sticker on it, so I would assume that this machine will just go on sleep mode when not in use. Nuh uh it doesnt work that way (or is it just this machine that I bought)?

2) the ink levels on the display panel show two "?" (for black and the colored cartridges). I just put in brand new cartridges.

I called HP Tech Support and the operator couldnt answer wither of my questions, any surprise? I asked him to send me to the next level of support but he said I am in there already. We tried the reset-printer approach but its no dice - still the same thing.

I even asked him if thee is a chance that the light night just burn out because its on constantly - the tech support guy does NOT know the answer either. Sigh.... all he asked was if my printer has the Energy Star sticker on it - if it does, he says, then the light should shut off after minutes of non-usage. I prefer to keep the printer on so I could print from my wireless laptop.

Any expert opinion would be much appreciated!

    Oops the title is incorrect - it should have said J6450 - sorry about that.

If the printer is not able to detect the cart then clean the cart and reset if you see the '?' again then the printer is defective or the cart are defective and check the manual the set the sleep mode manually on the printer and check if it works if not get it replaced as it might damaged from the company itself...................

Check if your document has empty lines at the end. Use your keyboard down arrow to scroll past the last line of text. Then backspace until you get to the last line.

I always use HP printers and every time i get a new operating system (vista, win7 etc) the HP software does not fully install. I go to HP.com to install the latest software for the appropriate OS but rarely get more than just the printer working. If i require the scanner or cd print features i have to do that from an older computer or older operating system that the printer was originally installed on.

Low toner warning light always blinking


maybe the toner t1810c is not original...try this code turn off the machine then press 0 and 2 at the same time then a value of 3 digit will appper just press start button...dont turn off the power other wise this toner warning will show again...repeat this procedure the next time u off then on the machine...hope this can help...

Hello.

I'm trying to determine which light you are referring to. Are you referring to the front WiFi light, which blinks orange or steady green ?

If not WiFi, please be more specific as to which light.

I have a new HP printer Office Jet J6480 all-in-one. I've had it less than a week. I was doing a lot of printing and it began putting a vertical streak down the paper and then the display said it was low...


Check the rollers that move the paper. There is probably some ink on one if them. You can usually clean them with warm water. Just use a damp cloth and rotate the wheel slowly by hand while holding the cloth against the suspect roller.

Error message on my Hp Officejet J6480-Fax log full


Press the Setup button (c01361401.gif ).
  1. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Tools displays on the control panel, and then press OK .
  2. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Fax Log displays on the control panel, and then press OK .
  3. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Clear Fax Log displays on the control panel, and then press OK . A message that says the fax memory is clear displays on the control panel.
  4. Press the Cancel button (c01235250.gif ) to exit.
