Error message ink absorber full - Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer

When checking the Printer Status, the message "Ink absorber full, error code: [5B00] or [5B01] appears. This error occurs because the waste ink absorber is full. When the ink absorber is full, the waste ink counter value (D) reaches the maximum value (D=100.0).Apr 20, 2021

This error relates to the ink absorber being almost full. You should be able to press ok and continue (unless you've already done that in which case, the ink absorber is probably full). http://canontechsupports.blogspot.com.es/2014/09/how-to-fix-error-1702170317041715e08-in.html

Try:

• ERROR LCD: Ink absorber is full. Service required.
• ERROR LCD: The ink absorber is almost full. Press [OK] to continue but early replacement recommended. <See manual>
• ERROR LCD: The ink absorber is almost full. Press [OK] to continue

If any more problem encounter,post or thumbs back.

the waste ink absorber cannot be replaced mate. you have to buy new printer.the waste ink absorber is the sponge part where head cleans all its ink. its a common problem in cannon.

There is an absorbent sponge in the bottom of your waste ink container to help contain the waste ink your printer generates when it cleans the print head nozzles. That sponge is probably full and has triggered a "most informative" error message!

Check your user's manual about the procedure for changing the absorber and where to buy new ones.

I got on error message when started to print.
It’s kept happened and message dialog box “The ink absorber is full” occurred.
Mine is Canon MP145.
Can somebody please help me , on how to fix this problem !

u have to clean it mannualy by opening it. if u r not expert give the printer to qualified proffesional
