Unit stops shortly after starting a cycle. Wait a little bit, start cycle again, fills then stops again. Is this a problem with the control board?

If it fills but not wash at all suspect the pressure switch its the switch where you select the water fill small med large behind that switch will be a dome looking piece with a vinyl hose connected to it try spin drain first if all that works replace the dome switch

Wont stop filling

im not expert but i had same problem twice, i almost hire some one to come look at it but was charging me $50 just to do so, ridiculous huh, then i just started to ask around, opened the washer front panel, no idea what i was looking at, searched on the internet and boom, gave me answers and videos of possibles causes and solutions...and i didn't have to expend a penny, so here my solution, i have a GE washer but most washers have this same system for stop the filling process, on the tank (at least on mine) you'll see a little box on the right connected to a small hose that goes up and around to the washer switches panel, at the box i disconnected the hose and happened to be plugged with dirt and grease (my bad since i have been washing my work coveralls , big mistake lol) so, i disconnected it both sides cleaned inside with anti grease and blow in it (seems like stopping the auto filling works when in the little box on the side it gets filled and the air pressure goes into the hose to the switch and triggers the stop and start the washing cycle) the second time i had problems it flooded the laundry room because didn't stop filling , so i did the same but this time i only disconnected the hose at the box end and with the filling going i blow into the hose, didn't stop, cleaned the end of the hose and tried again and this time when i blow into the hose the pressure got to the switch and stopped the filling and started the washing cycle....so, try and follow my example and you will save a lot of money trying before you hire some one else to do it for you, specially when most of the time are simple little thing you can fix by yourself with only doing a little research, good luck and hopefully i could help with your problem :) (look for videos at youtube)

My 21882 top load Kenmore washer will start the cycle but stops after filling up; i can restart the cycle by pushing the knob in and going a little further in the cycle then starting again. But after a...

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Ge super capacity plus washer. Mod wlse3150a0ww. no matter what setting it always starts on rinse then goes to spin.It also will not drain.

If the washer is stopped mid cycle it will default to rinse and spin. It will then get stuck in a loop. It is necessary to reset the electronics. Unplug the electrical cord from the unit. Wait 30 seconds. Turn the cycle selector all the way around clockwise. Turn it again and set it on any setting accept rinse or spin. Plug the unit in. It should begin a new cycle and be working normally.
