Question about HP PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a HP pavilion mx70 monitor which is about 7 years old. Suddenly when I switch it on the screen keeps turning a 'rose' color. It occassionally goes back to normal but will constantly turn pink again. I found through answers.yahoo.com that this has happend to some-one else recently. Do you know if this is a fault in the monitor itself or something that can be fixed? Thank you very Much. Joanne

Its the monitor. first I highly suggest upgradeing your computer. But the problem is that over time the connection port in the monitor that hooks the wire up to the computer gets worn down and the solder begins to weaken. And eventully a connection becomes loose or breaks and when the cable is at a certain angle or is moved around the screen can change colors. So if you have this problem jiggle the cable a bit or try to find a position you can put the cable in so that it doesent move around too mutch.

Have a Pavilion Desktop HP with upgrade from vista to windows 7 ultimate. Turned the power on and no blue light and no monitor yet the fans were running. Computer monitor said no input and went back to...

Power supplies tend to be either working or not working. I would start with the computers memory, reseating the memory cards (there are plenty of tutorials on the web for how to do this). If the power supply fan was running, chances are you did not need to buy a new one. Does it do the same thing with the new power supply?

My HP pavilion has stopped running, no power to tower, just a blinking green light in the back of the tower. Everything else works fine monitor, printer. Do I need another power supply. My computer is 10...

I strongly advise you to replace your old (VERY OLD!!) PC with new one. Do not worry, you will not lose any data from your old PC if you will take hard drive off your old PC and fix to new one. Anyway, if you still want to keep your old PC (NOT RECOMMENDED) you will have to buy new Power Supply and clean up your PC inside.

HP pavilion a400n PC not booting....

1. Did you you run the Win 7 simulation prior to upgrading to Win 7? 2. How much RAM does your PC have? I just checked your specifications http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&lang=en&cc=us&product=391284&dlc=en&docname=c00057188
Your computer takes a max of 1GB RAM and the minimum required for Windows 7 is 2 GB. This PC is not fit for Win 7. Sorry.

Are Dell monitors not compatible with older HP Pavilion Computer? I tried to connect my HP CPU to a Dell monitor and it will not recognize it at all.

It shouldn't make any difference which monitor you are connecting to any computer. In fact, I am running a 19" HP Flat Panel on my Dell Dimension 2400 right now. It is NOT a wide screen monitor as the Dell built in graphics card will not support the RESOLUTION RATIO required for the wide screen. Check what setting is "native resolution" for your monitor and see if your graphics card will support it. If not, using your old monitor, try different resolution settings. Right click on your desk top, click on properties and that should bring up the display properties box. Try a lower setting as larger settings are the ones that will give you a black screen. It will probably give you a smaller picture on your old monitor, or perhaps smaller or larger icons on the desk top. Accept the new settings, turn off your computer and switch monitors, and turn your computer back on. If you get a picture, but it does not fill the whole screen or the icons seem too large or small, then go back into properties from the desktop and try a different resolution ratio until the picture seems correct.

2 problems, monitor color and update possible?

well it sounds like the color scanning chips in the monitor are going<have gone> bad. If you have access to another monitor I would hook it to your system and see. XP may run, depends on your processor speed and RAM amount, also graphics can be an issue in XP

Monitor colorization problems

1.) Check to see if the screen has a peel-away, cellophane type shipping protector on it ( transparent with a rose color tint ? ). 2.) Click Start >> Control Panel >> Display >> Settings >> Advanced. If this section has a tab labelled "GAMMA", you can manually adjust all display settings. 3.) If no gamma control is available - download one FREE ( Dark Adapted ) here >>

HP a400n monitors

Sure but you shouldn't need to tell the computer what type of monitor it is, windows should simply send the signal to the monitor and poof up comes your display, more advanced versions may auto-detect or youc an select it in the control panel under display. Try craigslist to pick up a cheap monitor in your area. I got a 15'' flat for 20 bucks.
