Pioneer avh p4000dvd w/GMOS-04 wiring harness

I have a 2005 H2 w onstar and the Bose system. I am installing the pioneer avh p4000dvd. I bought the GMOS-04 with the radio to install with my factory system. I had everything wired up as the instructions showed. For about ten minutes the radio worked fine, then all the speaker except the drivers front quit working. After rechecking all the connections I came to the conclusion that the Metra GMOS-04 harness was bad. I took the harness back and got a new one. After hooking up the second metra harness the exact same thing happened. All the speakers except the drivers front quit working after about an hour.

Anyone with any anwsers to this mistery would be a great help. Thanks

It worked if both times before I turned the key off. I noticed the problem after turning the key back on both times.

Not sure of the guage of wire. Its just the harness off the Pioneer unit to the Metra GM plug I bought for the factory intergration. I am not hooking up anything extra, just the pioneer head unit.

I think you need a different harness, this one isn't handling the power I believe. What are the wire gauges

Well I would first try a different unit with the same harness and if it happens again, see if you can get a better harness. Also check with the place where you got it from what they would advise instead of the current harness as they should be able to tell you what gauge wire you have and what should work otherwise. Let me know if you need anything else

Are you doing anything specific when the audio disappears, or the speakers stop working all of a sudden, and altogether (except the drivers, of course)?

I have a bad wineing noise when my 02 dodge ram 1500 is running after i installed a pioneer avh-p4000dvd and a 4 channel amp try to fix the problem

The noise is due to AC ripples in the power supply and so you will need to soften the power supply with the use of a isolated regulation or use of inductor/capacitor filters on the alternator circuit and the power supply to the system.
In most systems there are filters but if the alternator has isssues- power regulator or rectifiers- then the noise can be evident.
Please check with all the ground connecctions, check battery ground and the grounding of the set. You can try with adding a 0.5mfd/250V capacitor to the alternator circuit to be grounded.
Finally check the power amp. ground, use a direct line from the battery with a fuse and avoid the source from the wiring harness.

No sound from ipod, usb or aux?

I removed my Pioneeer AVH-P4000DVD from my Tacoma pickup to upgrade to an AVH-X2500BT and installed the AVH-P4000DVD in my mustang cobra and found myself suffering from a strange issue (that seems to have happened to a lot of you too). All of a sudden I had lost my audio on my USB and AUX inputs. I tore the net apart for a solution, pouted, drank, and started doing more and more research, and check instruction manuals. I eventually found the solution based of one lone comment someone had mentioned regarding ground and comparing the wiring diagrams for the two decks. I pulled the pioneer harness out of truck and compared it to the pioneer harness in my car and found an inconsistency. This may solve the issue that plagues you as well. Check the harness you are using. I was not able to find a pinout, but the 4 wires on one end of the harness for the AVH-P4000DVD should be +12V battery, +12V ignition, ground, and ground, (yellow, red, black, and black). If you have received the harness for a newer model of pioneer AVH it will still fit fine but one wire is out of place. The second ground wire you need has been replaced by a purple reverse gear sensor for the backup camera. Ground out the purple wire and it should solve your issue... It did for me. Good luck.

I HAVE A F900BT WILL IT FIT IN MY 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE? AND IS IT ALL PLUG & PLAY

It will fit, but the parts are expensive and it is not plug and play.

Parts needed:

Dash kit- Metra 99-3305 About $15-$20

Antenna adapter- Metra 40-CR10 (Chrysler antenna adapter) Yes GM uses Chrysler parts. About $10-$15

Wire harness/Interface- GMOS-LAN-01 (non bose or onstar) About $100
GMOS-LAN-02 (bose/onstar) About $120

The reason for the pricey harness is to retain data features on the vehicle and to interface with Onstar (GMOS02).

This is the right way so don't cut corners because it can cause issues on your brand new vehicle.

All of your safety chimes run through the stereo and not using the correct interface can cause issues with your gauges

www.metraonline.com or www.scosche.com are good sources for install parts info

Thats an expensive installation the harness alone is over 120 dollars. You will lose your onstar unless you get a onstar integration module. You will also have to bypass your amp
