Test the camera by turning it on, if the menus can be seen and no picture in record modes, then the ccd may be damaged.

Are you able to shoot pictures? Try shooting pictures and then download to PC. If the pictures seem fine, then your LCD may be bad. Replace it. Repair costs are high . May be do it yourself. Buy a used camera through ebay (sold for parts, but with good LCD), and replace the LCD. The steps are given in the following sites:

After I shoot a picture the camera freezes up. I have to power off and up a couple of times to get it back to shoot mode. It does not store the image when it freezes up.

Can you power up the camera don't take a picture but move around the functions and view pictures on the LCD screen? If the camera does all the functions it's suppose to except hold a picture then I'd say the memory is at question. You might not have a memory card installed in the camera and it's working on the Internal Memory which is now full or not able to load another picture. If there is a memory card in the camera it might have the protection switch in the lock position which then would shift the picture storage to the internal memory. You need to check to see if there is a memory card in the camera if so make sure this card is in the unlock position. If the images are on the internal memory then you need to transfer the internal memory pictures to the memory card for download to the PC. Make sure the memory card is unlocked and formatted to the camera after you download the pictures to the PC

Fuji camera screen does not display picture even when screen is turned on when taking picture. but screen shows picture when you view pictures already taken

Hi dear, you need to see the manual (http://www.retrevo.com/support/FujiFilm-S700-Digital-Cameras-manual/id/2488ag805/t/2/)
Some camera only use viewfinder to shoot photo,The LCD is for setup and display photo only.Because it's off it will save a lot of battery power so that you can shoot more photos.Check it out in the manual.Have FUN!

EOs 20D digital camera

Prior to models made in 2007 or later, no SLR camera (film or digital) was able to let you compose the picture before shooting it other than through the optical viewfinder. SLRs are different in this respect from compact digital cameras. You will only be able to review your pictures on the LCD after they are taken.

I suppose you had turned the Mode-dial to P, S or A but did not set the aperture to the smallest, i.e. the largest value. This camera cannot control the diaphragm automatically if you do not do what I said before.
