Re: unlock lg chocolate vx8500
There's good news and bad news. The good news is that you might well
have forgotten that the default password on the phone
is 00000000 (that's eight zeroes). The bad news is that if
you've changed it to something else and that's what you've forgotten,
you might well need to take the phone in to a service center to have
them help you break it back open. Please put a good rating on my profile.
Heey man, sorry these guys dont know what they're talking about. if you search on google a little bit for the reset code, you can reset it and then it will set your unlock to your last four digits i believe.

First if phone is lock dial *228 and then
press 1. That reset your code for last four digit of your cell # (phone will reset ,no any data will be lost) If you do not know a cell # and phone is still
lock then press . #4357*4357.and you can see phone number that's
your lock code last four digit... That's for LG VX8500 (VERIZON)

This is Jon from THE CELL PHONE GUY in Sioux Falls SD we buy sell and trade used phones. I also spend most my days as a repair man on cell phones and have seen this before, LG's are actually fairly easy to figure the user lock out if you have forgotten it. First off if you dont know it and have never changed it it will always be the last four digits of the phone number of the phone. If you do not know that information all you have to do is power the phone on and enter: ##program'model number' and hit send. So in this case it would be ; ##program8500 send and it will now ask for a six digit password, its all zeros. after you have entered this information you should be at a menu that gives you several options you will want the top option service program and just hit ok through the first few things till you see a phone number. This information is settings from the provider about the connections and phone settings dont mess with this just hit ok. The phone number is the previouse number on the phone and you will only need the last four digits that is you pass code most of the time.
If there is anything else i can help you with please send me an email at email@example.com or visit our website www.thecellphoneguyonline.com
You say it is locked so when you turn it on it asks you for a security code or when you go into the menu's it asks you for one? If it is new the security code is 0000, if it has ever been activated before you need the last four digits of the MDN(mobile directory number) you can get this by checking the phone information and phone number or by checking the address book and my number and your code will be the last 4 digits of the phone number it has listed.
