Question about Epson Stylus C60 InkJet Printer
I tried to get one more print from my almost empty cartridge and it crumpled the sheet and jammed. It took awhile, but I got all the pieces of paper out and tried again, this time it refused saying the black cartridge is dry. I bought a new epson cartridge and put it in (same as I always do) and nothing. The cartridges didn't even move back to the printing position. Anyway, I've tried printing and I keep getting a message saying the black ink cartridge is dry. I tried doing the head cleaning process, switching the printer off and on, rebooting the computer, pulling the cartridge out and putting it back in again and same old message. I tried calling the epson troubleshooting hotline but got no fix- just a promise of a new cartridge. I took out the cartridge and looked more closely at it and saw a tiny metal needle like thing in the center of the clear plastic punctured hole for the ink. I pushed the needle thing in and the ink flowed freely. I put the cartridge back in the printer and STILL it says black ink is dry. The needle thing is no longer visible on the cartridge and everything seems ready to go except the program. HELP!
You could try taking out the new ink and putting in the old. Then uninstall the program, delete all reference to Epson in Regedit, then reinstall the program.
Change the cartridge when prompted.
Of course, having messed about with the jet, it may not work now !
