Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook

Dell Inspiron 6000 wireless issue

I was uninstalling programs that I no longer use, and I have a bad feeling that I uninstalled something that has to do with my wireless connection because Intel PROSet/Wireless can't connect to my home network. It basically stops when it tries to acquire the network address and can't renew the IP address. I've tried repairing it to no avail. What can I do? If you need more information, let me know.

I would first try and reinstall the driver from there web site. I linked it HERE for you. There is also a key that will disable the wireless card inside the laptop. It's Fn+F2 I believe.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I have a Dell Inspiron 560. An ad keeps blinking

Hi,

Yes, this online back up ad can be annoying at the best of times.

The best thing to do is to completely uninstall Dell Datasafe from the computer.

Go to the control panel and look for programs and features (this is vista) uninstall a program in Windows 7.
There should be 3 datasafe programs for you to uninstall, once you have uninstalled all 3 programs restart your computer and the problem should be solved.

Regards.

There are a lot of threats on my computer most are tool bars from alot ??? how can i get rid of them

Normally all should be uninstallable from Start / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs. If they are refusing to budge you will have to use an antispyware: install Spybot ,
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html
update it, scan and delete all detected threats.

go to control pannel then go to addremove programs , check out the dell dock program from the list click on uninstall and it will be done, if still you are not abel to uninstall then google revo uninstaller free download , download the software and throught it you can uninstall any program that you want , but make sure you so it on moderate level and delet all registry files as it will give an option to delete the registry entries.
Hope this should resolve the issue .

Inspiron 6000 starts to boot but then shuts down after only 10 seconds. New Battery, power supply measures ok. Caps lite is on.

Try reseating the RAM memory modules, see if any change.
If no change, remove, battery, Drives, Wireless card and RAM, see if the system will run longer or give an error code. If something changes, add 1 RAM module and try again. If the system runs, then add items back one at a time until you determine the faulty item.
If the system issue doesn't change, odds are a motherboard problem. Motherboard are about $100 on Ebay
