There are only 2 possibilities with this problem. 1 is the PCU or Photoconductor Unit. I am guessing that this is what you had replaced 3 months ago? If so you may have to have the dealer replace it under warranty. The other possibility is the fuser unit and fuser rollers. I would not suspect these as much because if the fuser rollers get bad enough to start double imaging then they will usually do it every copy, not occaisionally.
The hardest part of your issue is in the fact that it is intermittently happening. If it were every copy/print then I would suggest shutting the machine off while in the middle of the copying process so you counld see if the double imaging was there before the page went thru the fuser. If it were then that would prove the PCU was at fault. Since this does not happen all the time, that troubleshooting technique is of little to no use.
When you say cleaning the roller are you taking about the drum? The Greenish/Blue colored "cylinder" that you see after opening the right side door? That cylinder or drum should always be clean as it is cleaned by the drum cleaning blade after each copy is produced. If you are having to clean it manually then I would suspect even more that the PCU is bad. If this is the case then I would really complain to the dealer that installed it. Also if you have the service order when it was replaced that should give you the page count when it was installed. Check that against the current count. The PCU is suppose to last at least 45,000 pages.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Please check your Printer setup. or options ( I am not familiar with this printer. what terms they use- I'm not sure) Ther will be options for Print in Color or Black. Make sure the radio button for COLOR is checked. This way, black and color both will print in the correct color. So leave it on color even when you want to print in Black. The black radio button is there for a different reason. Hope this will help you. luciana44
That is an advanced feature, genrally this is known as Automatic drawer eligibility. However, I am not sure this device offers this advanced feature. Look for options to select drawers for your diff functions in your users manual. Sorry best I can say...
Printing is not possible with B-820. You can just make a copy of an original print. Put the original in the mentioned place, it displays 'Document Ready' then just press 'START' button twice. you'll get a copy.
