Question about Sewing Machines
HI , I just bought a singer model number 27 machine and I emailed singer and they said it was made in 1914.
It looks like they had a wire hooked to the machine in order to convert it to electric but both ends are old wires and frayed.
Is there a manual I can download to convert this to a power machine and to install a new belt as I see the old belt is gone.
you can download it free here

I have a Singer 27 treadle. It works so well that I would have to agree that electrifying it would be a mistake. I recommend making it into a handcrank or putting it back into a treadle base. There are sources to help. My favorite is www.treadleon.net

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
