Hello, lesky,
There should be a volume switch on your phone. It should either be on the base or on the handheld.
Anyway, if you need more help with your product, could i know your product model?

Good luck,
Dahakla

Yes this should be easily fixed. Is this the normal ring or is it the ring when you have someone on the second line? I will also need to know the model of the NEC phone so that I can give you the instructions for changing this. thanks

Is there a volume switch on the base or side of the unit? What model is it?

How to disable do not disturb on NEC Dterm80 phone?

Have a coworker call your extension to see if DND is on, they will go straight to voicemail or get a fast busy. Speaker 42 may be the default cancel DND code, depending on your system and whether the codes were changed. Anyway, ringing is set up in system programming. If someone calls your extension it will likely ring, but outside calls have to be assigned to ring in system programming. Usually need a tech to do the programming since it gets complicated very quickly.

"NEC DTU-16D-2" Need it to ring!

Woo Hoo! I figured this one out on my own!

However...WARNING! I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are technically savvy, as one wrong move could totally mess up all of your phones!!!

I searched and downloaded the Programming Manual from here: http://www.nec.co.th/html/download/Manual/Programming.pdf.

This manual will not only tell you how to fix this issue, but how to pretty much fix/change all programming for the NEC Electra Elite DTU-16D-2 phones.

I have also searched and downloaded the Feature Manual from here: http://www.nec.co.th/html/download/Manual/Features%20&%20Specifications.pdf

Happy Programming! =)

You actually need to set the ringing in program mode. Your NEC vendor should be able to help.

Additional User Stations not Ringing

You would need to determine which NEC phone system you have and obtain a programming manual for the phone system. Your phone could be used on different NEC phone systems that program differently. Phones only have user guides that explain how to use the features.

You can set up your system with Night Ring and have different ringing rules when the system is put in night ring mode. It sounds like this is what you are looking for.
