Re: laptop will not go wireless nor will it install...
Check the control panel to see if you have any virus software installed
to check the control panel
go to start , settings , control panel , on control panel , click on add or remove programs and look for any virus protection software and remove it
If it works , that means that the virus protection software has a security settings that you will need to configure.
If you need help on the software you will need to contact the manfacture of the software.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I talked to 3 operators. The long and the short of it is that they had me:
1. remove a Majic Jack related folder from an applications folder
2. insert MJ1 and MJ2 in the Windows Firewall exceptions
3. format the Majic Jack software "drive"....and then install an upgrade.
Based on this, I think the problem crops up in the Majic Jack software. So far, it has fixed my problem, though I've not made a long call yet.
I found the Majic Jack operators very helpful. Be sure to have them step you through this.
Remove all traces of the program from your system do a registry search for the software title F3 to find every occureece and delete the string, dword etc associated with the software
Download and install it or just use the software that came with your tv card and and whatever and the heck with that non working microsoft crap Since you evidently dont want to report the problem to Microsoft We are not affiliated with Microsoft nor do we or anybody on the planet know how Microsoft works
The whole problem seemed to be tied up with McAfee antivirus. It seems that this program runs its own firewall settings that sometimes interfere with the computer's communication. Once this program was removed and another antivirus installed, but problem was resolved.
yes the modem is independant of what computer it's on ....... unless in the modem it's self you have set up some of the security features like Mac filtering etc then it would have to be added, but as far as it working with your new computer it should be just fine if it's not let me know and i will assist you in connecting it.
The modem is most likely set up as dhcp so when you connect your new computer it will give it the required setting to connect.
upgrade your RAM memory ..........(better not to use different frequency RAMS this decreases the performance) refer to your motherboard manual for this...... install the good antivirus & always keep the virus away ....
so by this you can speed up your pc...
if you are using the windows xp then increase the virtual memory ... you make the virtual memory double of your RAM size ... you can do that by going to control panel>system>advanced>advanced>virtual memory settings> increase the size of the virtual memory for the drive where the OS is installed ....
any doubts reply me
i am always here to assist you
dnt forget to rate my solution
you see doesn's the password you created. it needs a passphrase created by the router.
it looks like this
when you set-up your router on your pc try to save the
"wireless security information"
by copying it and paste it to a notepad or where you could put it.
ok? hope I helped you ^.^
Did your WD 500 come with software? If so have you installed the software? Does windows see the new external hard drive under my computer? You can always drop and drag files and folders directly to your new hard drive. What operating system are you using? Please answer questions and then we will go from there.
