Oven door locked after power outage

Usually, on electronic oven controls, the user must clear the "PF" error or other such similar condition first. Next, look for a set of buttons with "lock" below them or a "key" symbol. You would then press and hold both buttons for 3-4 seconds until the lock light goes out, or a message will show "disable". I don't know what model range you have so I am giving options that I have seen in the field. On some ovens, just a single button is pressed and held--some models have a separate "cooktop lockout" and an "oven lockout". This prevents children from either activating or changing settings when un-supervised. However, the power outage may have *damaged the electronic oven control* by hitting it with a current surge when the power was restored. THIS IS COMMON and why I always encourage my customers to purchase a "whole house surge protector" for between 60 and 100.00. It is some of the best money you can spend to protect your house--current surges aren't covered by warranties or most protection agreements.

Kenmore gas range when no clicking when turning the oven on

Get FREE Standard Shipping on orders of $100 or more. Details
Range: Gas burner won't spark or ignite A surface burner igniter switch and a spark module activate the spark electrode when a burner is turned to the "Lite" position on a gas range's cooktop. If the surface burner switch, spark module or wiring in that circuit fails, the spark electrode won't work, and as a result the gas burner won't light. If those components work but the electrode won't spark, the problem could be that the spark electrode is coated with spilled food of is bent or broken. In addition, the electrode won't spark or ignite the burner properly if the ceramic insulation sleeve below the tip of the electrode is cracked or broken. If the gas burner isn't lighting, these repairs may help.

Replace the spark igniter electrode

1396454293470.jpg The spark igniter electrode-also called the surface burner igniter-is an insulated electrode that provides an ignition spark to light a surface gas burner. It sparks and makes a ticking sound when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the spark ignition electrode if it fails to spark or if the ceramic insulation sleeve is cracked or chipped. How to Replace a Spark Igniter Electrode in a Gas Range Find This Part

Replace the surface spark module

1377098014986.jpg The surface spark module is in the ignition circuit for the gas surface burners. When a surface burner control knob is turned to the "Lite" position, it provides voltage to the spark electrodes on the gas surface burners. If the surface spark module fails to provide the electrodes with voltage, then it should be replaced. Find This Part

Replace the spark igniter switch

1396454315355.jpg The igniter switch is an electrical switch on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve. This switch completes a circuit to the surface burner spark module, causing the burner igniters to spark when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the burner igniter switch if the burners don't spark when you turn the burner control knob to the Lite position or if igniters spark constantly even when the burner knobs are in the Off position.

From the manual:

To turn the Cooktop Lockout Feature OFF:
1. Press and hold (_ until "CLO" appears (Figure 3). Continue holding
until a second beep sounds (after 3 seconds). I_1will disappear from
the display indicating the cooktop may be used normally (Figure 4).
Note: Starting a Self-Clean cycle will automatically turn ON the Cooktop
Lockout feature. The cooktop will remain locked until the Self-Clean cycle
has completed and the oven door has unlocked. If a power failure occurs
after the Cooktop Lockout has been activated, you must turn OFF the
Cooktop Lockout feature before being able to use the cooktop features
again.

This may be a silly question but, did you just try turning off the circuit breaker for a couple minutes to see if it resets itself when you flip it back on?

The burners won't work but the oven does! please help me. i was in the middle of cooking and all of the sudden it stopped working. i checked the circuit breaker box and nothing was blown. thanks! Lori

you have the cooktop lockout engaged, this may be a control failure, but try to turn off the cooktop lockout first by pressing and holding the control button with a pic of a lock by it. if this doesn't work, replace the control board.

Oven and broiler won't come on. Cooktop burners are fine.

Have you run the self-cleaning feature recently? I had a similar problem on my stove of the same model, and it was the switch that detects whether the oven latch is engaged (if it gets stuck and thinks the latch is locked, it will not ignite the main burner or broiler). An easy way to check if that's the problem: without touching the latch, turn the controls to Clean. If the burner lights, that is your trouble.

Control Lockout (on some models)
Your control will allow you to lock out the
touch pads so they cannot be activated when
touched or cleaning the glass panel.
To lock the controls:
Touch the 9 and 0 touch pads at the
same time for 3 seconds until the
control beeps twice. The display will
show LOC continuously and the time
of day if not blacked out.
NOTE: All cooking and timing functions will be
cancelled when locking out the control.
To unlock the control, touch the
9 and 0 touch pads at the same time
for 3 seconds until the control beeps
twice, and LOC will be removed from
the display.
NOTE: Some models have a Control Lockout
pad. Touch and hold it for 3 seconds to
lock/unlock.
Gas/Control Lockout (on some models)
Your control will allow you to lock out the
surface burners, oven burners and control
panel so they cannot be activated.
To lock/unlock the controls:
Turn all surface burners off.
Touch and hold the Gas/Control
Lockout pad for 3 seconds until the
display shows LOC ON.
To unlock the control, touch and hold the
Gas/Control Lockout pad for 3 seconds
until the display shows LOC OFF.
When this feature is on and the touch pads
are touched, the control will beep and the
display will show LOC ON.
The control lockout mode affects all
controls. No controls will work when this
feature is activated.
The adjustment will be retained in memory
after a power failure.

Burners don't receive gas though oven/broiler does

tommi, this model has a cooktop lock-out solenoid feature. Try pressing and holding the top light keypad for 5 seconds and see if the top comes back to life. If not, check your owners manual, it may be a different key. The lock-out solenoid is in the back behind the outer panel. The cooktop lockout valve has been redesigned from a AC to DC voltage because of complaints of chattering. The new part number is 8184768. Lets hope you don't need it and just have the top locked out.
