I think your unit have a problem with the ic amplifier STK 402 or STK 404because there are 2 stk ic in hrt 5630, you must have an electronics background to identify witch one is defective,, i have the same problem b4 and i change the big one STK402 and it solves the problem

My Onkyo TX NR609 is not coming on and immediately shuts off and is progressively getting worse it is hooked to a harmony smart hub

Hi Liz, I am sorry about your issue. Please remove the HDMI cable from the receiver that is connected to the TV as a test. Check and see if the receiver stays on. If it does not the receiver would need to be serviced. Thank you, Onkyo USA

My Sony STR-DN2010 Shuts off When I turn up volume. Also, the HDMI Out to the TV stopped working.

The unit shutting down when you turn it up sounds like a bad speaker hooked up to it. That is the most likely cause. As far as the hdmi problem, with the receiver turned off, press and hold the power button until it says 'clearing' on the front panel. This will reset the unit. Many times it is just a setting that is messed up. If that doesn't fix the hdmi problem, then there is most likely a problem with the hdmi switching IC which will require that board to be replaced.

Dennon gets hot shuts off

how are your four outside speakers hooked up? If you have four speakers hooked up to only two output channels on the receiver, the receiver is sensing a short and shutting down to avoid damage to the amp.

I have a Onkyo HT-R8230, i hooked it up to my jvc XL-V114 disk player via rca and the receiver will play for about 2 mins then shut off the stand by light blinks i pulled it apart and dusted it out checked...

Check the link below for generic information about protect mode as your unit is in that mode. In your specific case, I'd suspect a problem with the coupling caps between the pre-amp stage and the final output stage of the amplifier. There could also be a power supply offset problem. Without taking measurements inside the system, I can't say for sure.

Check out the link and post any additional questions here.

Thanks,
Dan

I just purchased a used Denon AVR-3200 and have nothing hooked up yet but plugged it in on my kitchen counter and upon turning the unit on, noticed the error overload button was lit up but the unit did not...

Hi

I've had an AVR 3200 for about 10 years - occasionally (maybe once every 6 months), the error overload button comes on... for no real reason than i can detect (ghosts in the machine, maybe)... rebooting has always fixed it for me.
