Dont have a remote and can't hide the subtitles

Ms. Padilla, you need to enter the menu settings in your television, should be a menu button on you tv set. Once in menu go to picture or scroll through the menus untill you find caption, once you locate that you can turn the subtitles off.

I believe the "Caption Vision" is selected. By pressing the "Display" button on the remote it should toggle through the choices until "Display Off" appears. That should be all.

Hi - my mom's sony tv - kv-27s42 ---- even after reading the manual I can not stop the closed captions from appearing - can you please help? Thanks! Tony

First, it is a older set.

Second: if the CC is coming from the set you will need the original Sony remote---Look under captions and either turn them off or to something other than CC1.

Third:If some kind of cable or other box is being used to supply signal to the set the CC can be coming from it! Yes, these boxes also have CC settings.

Look at settings in set first and in the box (if you are using one) second.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

My JVC 27" tv won't show subtitle. Is there any way to get it to come on? It looks like we have it turned on with the remote, but then it doesn't work.

Do you mean closed caption? Sub title on/off control is on the DVD player.

Check any TV channel to see whether the Closed Caption works? There should be a CC switch on the remote or there should be a CC on/off command from the TV menu.

How do I remove subtitles permanatly?

i guess they can't b removed or turned off from the tv display..until n unless ur tv possess such option (nw days many tv has such), however nohow they can b removed if u r viewing a broad cast channel..as they come in file(s) as: <filename>.sub, within the media file(eg. *.avi, *.mpeg etc, howevr else in case of dvd/*.vob) containing folder..

if u want ur dvd to b ripped..
u may ask: white.circle9@yahoo.com..

How do I get sub titles off my tv ??

First figure out which device is causing the problem. It can be DVD, VCR, TV etc. Whichever device it is: access menu of that device, scroll down looking for CC, Caption, Closed Caption(or similar) if none of these exist go to audio or video menus and look there for same. Press select and change

Video Labels stay on - Sony TV Model KV-32V16

Press Display / ' i ' button TV original remote and on-screen display will disappear.
I repeat, you need Sony TV original remote to do so, universal remotes do not have such button.
