I have a Mitsubishi WD-62526 that has a picture problem--every few seconds the picture gets fuzzy, lasts for a couple of seconds, then looks good again for a few seconds, and does this continually. When the picture is normal it looks good. Any suggestions?

I would bet the illumination lamp has reached the end of it's life (~$40 online). Should be easy to replace. Also possible the ventilation vents need cleaning, which could cause the lamp to overheat and turn off.
You have a multitude of surface mounted capacitors that have to be changed on the DVM module which is part of the Light Engine Assembly. Mitsubishi's are notorious for this problem. Mits charges $300.00 to refurb the Light Engine Assembly , which is not a bad price.
this indicates a bad lamp. your owners manual has instructions for replacing. there will be a lamp door on the back or behind the speaker grille. if the lamp is shattered or bulged/white it is bad. if the lamp looks good, you may have bad capacitors on your power supply.
the lamp is simple; yet you can run into problems with this tv. be very careful replacing lamp. the plug in the tv can be damaged. (due to the design) lamp part #
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on
the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device
and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
