Question about Apple iPod nano 3rd Generation
Push center and menu buttons as you keep it connected to the computer charger. That will hard reset the ipod. If it doesn't respond to the hard reset it is more likely you have motherboard issue. You can try to open it and clean the corroded parts on the logic board with a toothbrush. If that doesn't help, there are logic boards available on ebay, there is a ipod repair guide that will show you how to open your ipod replace the logic board.

Try VaxTex Corp. Small Electronics Repair they've done a lot of water damage repairs on Apple iPods successfully. sometimes is just a battery replacement with those things, but apple wont touch it. If they can't fix it they'll make you an offer for it, so you really can't loose. Plus they do free return shipping and free shipping both ways if you live in New York State.
Hope that helps!

LOL...i'm not sure...but i think you shouldn't have turned it on cuz that sounds like in that 2 seconds time, everything burnt out inside of it. like the chips n stuff... you should've kept it for 2-3 days so the inside would dry out....
try to dissemble n do a clean up inside..using an air blower-can or a cloth if possible. n then put it back n turn it on.
