Question about HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer will not print on 4 x 6 photo paper

Just a few days ago is when the problem occurred. I had no problem before. I know how to load and print on the 4 x 6 paper. but now the printer 'sounds' like its printing but when the paper comes out it either has a few dark lines on the back of the paper or only half or part of the photo is on the paper. I have no problem printing out anything else or on regular sized paper. Someone at HP told me to change the paper size in the drop down menu in the HP Director- that didnt work. I have never changed the paper size when the printer was printing correctly on the 4 x 6 paper. I would just adjust the paper guide and click the 'photo' button on top of the printer and pick the size photo I wanted through the Photo Printing Wizard ....help!

No Issy2, The settings have not been instable, I have had no other problems with the printer, none. I can print all size photos - but only on the 8.5" X 11" inch paper. I can print a 4"x6" photo but just not on the 4"x6" photo paper.

Thank you Issy2 for your time and help ( sorry for the delayed reply:)

Printer is not printing the black colour when i load the paper from the rear slot...

Hi
try printing a "Nozzle check" to confirm that both your black cartridges are working ok. One cartridge - the smaller (photo) one is used for printing photos on glossy paper. The second - bigger cartridge is used on plain (copy) paper. Sounds to me like your smaller (photo) black cartridge is not working. It's either empty or may need "Cleaning" or "Deep cleaning". In case you don't know...Nozzle check, Cleaning etc utilities can be found on "Maintenance" page in "Printer properties".
good luck

Hp j6480 printer wont print keeps sending a paper mismatch message

Paper mismatch errors occur because the product scans the width of the envelope before printing. If the paper size setting in the printer driver does not match the paper actually loaded in the product, the product reports a 'Paper Mismatch' error. The message saves paper and ink by preventing print jobs from accidentally printing on the wrong paper. For example, the print job might be for a 101.6 x 152.4 mm (4 x 6 inch) photo, but there is letter-size paper loaded in the product. The error message displays to make sure that ink is not wasted on the wrong paper type. try this out , disable the automatic paper type sensor.
  1. Open the Print dialog box.
    1. In Word 2003, click File , and then click Print
    2. In Word 2007, click the Office button (c01850900.gif ), and then click Print .
  2. Make sure that your product is in the Name drop-down list box, and then clickProperties .
  3. Click the Features or Paper/Quality tab.
  4. In the Paper type drop-down list, click Plain paper .
  5. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
  6. Click OK again to print the current print job.

My Epson Stylus Photo RX580 had a paper jam. I cleared it but now the screen keeps saying "Printer error has occurred. See your documentation". I've turned it off a few times and I don't know what needs...

1. turn it off & disconnect from computer
2. open printer & check for any obstructions
3. load a sheet of paper, press & hold the paper feed button while turning the printer on
4. it should print a test page, else the printer needs service as there might be some no-user serviceable parts inside that got damaged by the paper jam.

Print Photos This idea may seem like a no brainer, but I am not justtalking about printing out images from the web. I am not even talking aboutprinting out a photo from your family vacation. What I am talking about isusing your printer to print photos that look like you just had them developedprofessionally. With some high quality glossy photo paper, photo quality inkcartridges and a bit of editing skills, you can print all of your favoritephotos with ease without needing any professional help. And the beauty of itis, most people use digital cameras these days rather than traditional 35 mmfilm, so the transfer is easy. You can even plug your camera directly into someprinter models and print photos right off of the camera.
