Hi Dan, I didn't mean to switch from you, but I misunderstood what to do when I subscribed for premium assistance. I have just read your comments on both threads. It would be great if you could unearth a PS schematic. Your other comment has got me reconsidering that 1,500 uF capacitor, which is across the 170 V output. My DC measurement, based on charging time, may not be indicative of what the capacitor is like at some tens of kHz. Maybe a low value would make the transformer and switching devices work harder?
