Phaser 7300dn Fuser problem

The fuser is not always fusing the image to the page.  Thought it might be the fuser so I got a new one and it does the same thing.  Seems to me it might be the controller card for the fuser unit?
Also the Magenta toner intermittently shows that it is not installed when it is.  Do I have a sensor board going?

I've been having the same problem lately and was CONSIDERING getting a new fuser (it's been in the printer since I set it up back in January, 2005 and still have 34% remaining life, according to the front panel). HOWEVER, reading the posting leads me to believe that will not help. I've changed from 24# to 20# paper, that's the only difference; so I'm going back to 24# paper and see if that helps. I'll repost if I see any difference.

We have a Xerox 7300DT and are having the exact same problems with both the fuser and the printing thinking the magenta imaging unit is missing all the time.

The color is peeling off the prints and the impression is imprinting on the back side of the next sheet. Back in Nov. 07, our tech told us to get a new fuser, which we did even though it was still at 80% life. We changed the fuser at that time, but the date did no reset that it was changed. He also recommended that we change the paper type to thin cardstock for our Xerox Color Xpressions 28lb paper.

Now that fuser is only at 94% life remaining and we are having the same problem with the color peeling off. It has been happening on and off for 6 months or so. More often when the printer is first used or not used in a while, but that it does happen at other times too.

The tech diagnosed the imaging unit missing problem as a sensor that needs to be replaced in the cover.

Any other thoughts on what could be going on with both of these problems?

    Thanks.

I don't think so. I have had this problem when I'm using a thicker paper and the paper type is set wrong in the printer.

The printer seems to adjust something based on what paper you say is printing. Try pulling the paper out of the printer, then re-inserting it and then choosing a different paper type - one closer to what you are using - or choose the "special" paper type.

This should solve your problem.

Paper jams by rolling to the fuser casing. Already replaced fuser module, but still having the same problem.

you must configure the page size, because the configuration jams have a page shorter than the product that you put to print.

Have Xerox 7300DN Printer. I am getting white lines in black color only. Have done all steps in the Xerox Diagnosing Print-Quality Problems page. Did not solve issue. Supplies usage page states black toner...

It looks like you may have some damage to the black IU. If you have an old one or a spare to try as a test that might help. The drum is easily scratched and this then produces marks or lines in the appropriate colour.

Phaser 7300 - one color fading on diagnostics page

Are you using third party toner? That is one thing that causes that problem. Use only xerox toner.
The other thing is that your image unit could have come defected, if it was brand new. Try changing the image unit and that should fix that problem. Good luck. 016-1993-00 image unit & toner 016-1977-00

No fusing at all. fuser cam stuck in open position

Probably a faulty Fuser. Try replacing the Fuser and see what happens.

Did the Fuser Upper Failure magically disappear? If it did, and you just kept on printing thinking it just "went away".... try a new fuser.

Toner not fusing to the page but fuser is ok

Hi,

Try the steps on the link below. You can set it too a special paper, also check that there is not loose toner around the contact of the toner cartridges.
