Dropped my phone the other day and the keys don't work anymore.
I can restart the phone by hitting the reset button. Then I can use the touch screen to call someone. Phone then asks if I want to turn phone on, say yes and can make a call using the contact list. Phone turns off again to reserve battery. Now I have to reset it again to use it. ARGH!!!

I hate to say it but you might need to hard-reset the phone. If you choose to do so BACK UP YOUR DATA first. You can get a free program called "PIM Backup." This will let you back up all of your contacts, emails, etc. (all personal information). To hard reset, hold down both of the soft keys at the same time, then simultaneously use your stylus to hit the reset button. You should get a black screen with some text on it asking if you want to hard reset. Press the "send" key to confirm. If you don't get the screen right away keep trying as it doesn't work perfectly every time.
Hello, These methods have been confirmed on my phone with both T-Mobile's ROM and Excalibur (S620 original ROM)
Turn the hand-held
off, hold the two soft keys (the dashes to the left and right of the phone buttons)
hold the power button for 1-2 seconds and then release the soft keys. It should
prompt you to clear storage. The “send” button is considered as the
green phone button.

Holding down both left and right soft keys (the buttons above the red and green phone keys) while pressing the reset button (on the bottom of your phone) with the stylus. Hol down the soft keys until you see a message asking if you want to reset. You then need t slide the keyboard open and press the appropriate key.
Warning: this will reset your phone to manufacturers settings; all data will be erased. Your phone, however, will no longer have a password, and you will be able to set a new one.

It may be the storage card - if you take the storage card out it will boot up and you can put it back in. - pain in the a## but it may work. Or Try taking the SIM card out, boot it up, turn it off, replace the card, and turn it on again.
Last resort is a hard reboot. If you did a hard reboot and nothing happened then you did not do it successfully. To do a hard reboot.
- with the phone powered off - press the two soft keys, yes the left and right soft keys which are the two dash keys labeled - - - while keeping it pressed, press the power button down - keep the power button pressed down for 1 - 2 seconds and then release the power button while still holding down the two soft keys. Keep holding down the soft keys until a black screen appears and prompts appear - now release the soft keys and follow prompts - if you dont see the black screen with the reset option, pull the battery out, reinsert it and repeat the above steps - when you see the black screen with the reset option, press the Send button to confirm the reset.
do a sw reset....its possible it was damaged when it was dropped in the water, but not likey....
turn the phone off, press and hold the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the home key and back arrow key) and hold it down.....press the power button while you are doing that until the white t-mobile screen will come on, then instead of going to the green windows mobile screen, a black screen with white writing......press the green button....it will get you in your phone but it will erase your info as a result....
Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your fibromyalgia Margo. There is a possibility that the settings got a little jarred from being dropped so much if this is the case then you should be able to perform a system reset on the phone and just work through the prompts. If that doesn't work then you may want to call in and have a hard reset performed but it does reset it back to factory default setting so you will want to synch your phone to your computer so your information will be saved. Hope that helps :)
