I have toner spilling into my machine. It is all over! There are no lights or error messages indicating that something is wrong. But my copies are covered with slotches of black and the toner is not fusing properly to the page. Do I need to replace the drum? What is the best way to clean the toner?

Re: Toner Dumping in machine
Do you have a shop vac with a hose on it? Turn the copier OFF and UNPLUG it from the WALL and use the vac to do all the lose toner & use a brush to get into the cracks and hard to reach areas. The blotches are most likely coming from the paper path, make sure you clean the whole paper path and run some blanks pages in the copier to clear up any left over... Good Luck

The bottle full message indicates that the waste toner collection bottle is full. The full bottle needs to be removed and the toner disposed of properly. Then a replacement collection bottle needs to be installed and the waste toner counter reset. This site has the toner bottle: http://www.precisionroller.com/waste-toner-containers-for-ricoh-aficio-mp-c4500/details_47769.html . It is possible to reuse the bottles but most people will spill the toner when they try to empty a collection bottle. You do not want loose toner in your environment.
Turn off the printer (at the power switch) and wait for the lights to stop blinking before attempting the replacement. See page 62 of the network guide for the replacement procedure. See https://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/downloads.aspx to search for your printer and get the manuals.
The C25 stores toner in a waste toner container. On the front of that container there is rectangular clear window that fits into a sensor when installed into machine. The sensor passes a beam of light through that window. When the bottle is full there is toner inside that clear plastic window which stops the light from making it through the window and the machine will tell you the waste toner is full. Just dumping the container out will not clear that window and by putting it back in the machine you will get the same toner full message. If you are going to try to reuse that container you will have remove the black plastic cover that is glued to the container above the clear plastic. Then use something like a Qtip to clean all the toner off of that clear window(much easier and faster to just replace in with a new container). if you still get the waste toner full message after you install it then remove it and wipe off the sensor that the clear window sits in. This will clear the message and you can continue your copy job.
not a solution - but a problem... i emptied the toner waste bottle in my MPW2400 and a new error message appears...says there is no toner and it keeps dumping toner from the new cartridge until it is coming out of every orifice of the machine. What is that about?
Thereafter, if the waste toner case is not replaced after making a total of about 2000 prints (A4/LTR), the machine will indicate 'E019' on the control panel; the error code can be reset by replacing the waste toner case and then turning off and then on the power switch. If the waste toner case is not set, the light-blocking plate will block the light between the photosensors, causing the Waste Toner Case Full message to appear.
very annoying message i agree - most likely caused by toner dust.
The printer uses a carousel to rotate the toner cartridges. Dust and toner can easily spill as the cartridges rotate. The error can appear at any time but seems to be most annoying after a paper jam or other error. It is also important to make sure that the cartridges themselves are clear of toner dust. Pay particulair attention to any copper contacts on the cartridge.
