I need new battery for ViviCam 5340 digital camera

It is possible that there is a fault, or that the battery connections in the camera are dirty or corroded, but digital cameras are famously demanding on batteries. You must use good alkaline batteries or better, a set of high capacity NiMH recharegables. Zinc or "long life" batteries just aren't up to the task.

New rechargeable batteries are supplied only partially charged. You need to charge them fully before use.

If this is a new camera, you need to return it right away.

just get the battery cover fix by taking your camera down to a camera shop like jessops. there is no need to get a new camera.

Seems it could be a firmware problem You will have to go to the Vivitar Technical Support Team, on the Vivitar web site.

It sounds like you tried all there is to try. Have you taken the batteries out for long enough for the camera to reset? Have you tried an altrenate good mem card? If yes to both then I can't see what else you can do on your own. Get a repair estimate and hope for the best. I suggest you add this post to the previous one you made, as a comment.
