Blackberry Curve 8330 Keyboard stopped working, seemingly for no reason or with no cause in particular. Cannot pick up calls, read messages, or wake up screen--but can still receive messages and calls, charge battery, and use roller ball scroller to scroll through "desktop" menu options only. Tried removing battery and then putting battery back in place several times to reboot, but has not changed the situation.

Did you change your phone sim card with new one? If yes, your phone still locked for particular network and you must unlock it first before you can use your sim card. To unlock blackberry curve 8330 network you will need a reliable blackberry unlock code where you can obtained from your provider or purchased at third parties sites on internet.
You can get the unlock code through online..........give your IMEI number and get the unlock code for ur mobile.... i will suggest the website Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website. This site is nearly perfect and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums. I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked. Hope this helps.
Have your keypad checked out, I used to fix alot of blackberries and they suffered from defective keyboards, this seems to be a common problem with them. Replace the keypad under the keyboard, swap out your phone if you have insurance.
go to where your messages are and then hit the menu key then go down to where it says "Message Alerts" Here you can change e-mail, SMS, and MMS and all message prefrences. you can pick ring only vibrate only vibrate and ring etc etc. click back then click save
Disabling your Yahoo email to the Blackberry won't solve your slowdown issues. The Blackberry is the preferred way to receive emails from a mobile device. You could have several different email accounts set up (i.e. gmail, hotmail, yahoo, ect.) and it wouldn't impact your performance. RIM is most known for their ease of set up and ability to forward / read email from a mobile. Check for other issues regarding slow down such as other processes running, slow network connection, ect.
I own a Blackberry 8120.
Have you tried a hard reset by pulling the battery and then restarting the phone?
Also, events get caught in the phones memory process as well, causing reminder LED's to not clear after clearing the event. Go to options>security options>memory cleaning and enable the memory cleaning function. Set the icon setting to show on the home screen, memory cleaning is a function that many blackberry users under-utilize...the memory must be cleared just like a desktop PC, the rapid logging of events causes some to hang up.
I believe one of these 2 solutions will help you out.
there isn much reason to unlock your cdma device, will only work with verizon, alltel and such companys like that. but if you feel the need to search unlock code 8330 on ebay and you will find many vendors willing to do so.
